Easy to install, seems good quality so far, but the status light is so bright it functions as its own emergency light fixture. Not so bad in common areas, but really terrible if you have installed them in bedrooms. We had to put a small piece of white electrical tape over the light so everyone could still sleep at night.

Easy to install, function well, super loud, no delay through out the house. The only reason I took a star off is because these are the absolute brightest smoke detectors on the planet. I can do needle point under this thing. And no matter how much black gorilla tape I slather on this sucker there is still light. So! If you are a person who likes to sleep in a black cave this is NOT the smoke detector for you. However if you have dreamed of what it would feel like sleeping in the tractor beam of an alien space ship this is your detector!

My husband installed 3 smoke/carbon monoxide detectors without any issues in our 1998 home. All tested good. There is a small bright green LED indicator that lets you know it’s working, however that may be too bright for a bedroom- we installed in 2 hallways & basement. It does have a voice/location function that needed to be programmed but it wasn’t difficult.

Sleek modern design. Easy to wire into existing system. Included sockets, which I needed because I was upgrading from my 30 year old ones which used a different type. Alarm functioned on test. Voice is clear with appropriate volume and tone. Acts as a nightlight but not overpowering. Built solidly.

These are stylish and easy to install! I got tricked by the landlord into buying these with the promise I'd be reimbursed. That never happened, but I am happy to have gotten a good sensor that vocalizes its issues with its built in speaker. These do have a bright green LED that's constantly on, so if that sort of thing bothers you, probably move on! Otherwise, they seem to work very well and look very modern. Love 'em!

I have had the X-Sense installed since July 2024. The installation process was straightforward, and testing went smoothly with the system. On New Year's Eve, we experienced a real-life test when fireworks smoke entered the house through an open window. The alarms detected the smoke and indicated its location, allowing us to check for any potential fire risks. There was no fire, but we identified the source of the smoke. Other than the bright green light from the detector, which I partially covered with gaffer tape to aid sleep, the system performed very well.

This fire alarm boasts a modern design compared to the dated First Alert and Kidde models.A standout feature is the voice alert, which identifies the triggering alarm by room (you can only choose from predefined rooms: kitchen, living room, dining room, master bedroom, bedroom, halway, entryway, office, basement, etc.). The voice is professional and neutral-sounding.Setup is easy: remove the battery tab, and the device guides you through the process by voice, telling you what to do next. No need to read the manual to assign rooms. The mounting plate is smaller than competitors', so my junction box corner is visible. The mounting plate didn't fit my wide screw heads, requiring complete removal and reattachment of the junction box screws.Battery access is inconveniently located inside the unit, requiring unlocking the alarm for replacement. The connector type is incompatible with Kidde/First Alert Alarm, requiring minor electrical rewiring (I suggest using wire nuts). The green LED is bright, as noted by others.Looking at the date, these devices have been produced a couple of months ago (which is important, because they're only supposed to be used for 10 years).Overall, it's a decent alarm at a fair price. I'm happy with my purchase and bought two more, bring my total to five.

These were an very easy install to replace the original hardwired smoke alarms in our house as I am planning to sell the house in spring and our state now requires both smoke and CO2 alarms when selling. And since we were moving, I just wanted to pass code for the least amount of expense.First issue was as others have said, the led light is ridiculously bright and kept me awake in the bedroom- wow unbelievable how that small green spot can light up a whole room. After one night we solved that problem by painting over the light with black enamel paint. But the real show stopper was the false alarms that started 4 months after install. We have a 3 level home and early one morning the alarms went off and told me smoke in the basement... NOT. I opened all the windows and doors to make sure the air was clean and they stopped. Then later in the day, they all went off again and said smoke on the top level... NOT. And then it kept telling me over and over there was smoke for over an hour until my hubby got home and was able to remove the alarm.Needless to say, ALL these alarms got unplugged We are living with no alarms now and I will have to figure out another product that will pass code for selling the house. Aside from our own livability in the interim, what prospective buyer will make an offer if the alarms go off for no cause when they are viewing the house? I don't want to lose a sale because of these stupid false alarms. What a total waste of money and time with the insult of having to listen to the obnoxious LOUD false alarms!
