I have used Kiddie Smoke Detectors in my house for years !! I love the combo Fire / Carbon Monoxide and the talking ones ...10 year battery but I still do frequent test on all my smoke detectors !!

This is a replacement for my last one that lasted 10 1/2 years. I'm done with AA or 9 volt batteries!

I needed to replace all 4 of my old ones, I changed the batteries, but the alarms lasted maybe 2 days and started going off. I looked at the date on the bottom and they were 11 years old. These have a 10 life span, and you don't need to ever change the batteries, so the value was worth the change. Super easy to install, I used the old holes and just replaced the base plates. They fin perfectly and I was able to sent them all up and run through the functions easily as well.

Zero stars. The one time I needed them to work they all failed me. I was cooking and thought I turned the stove top off. Went to rock my baby and put her down for a nap. Well I smelled burning food and ran out the door and my entire house was filled with smoke. So much that it was hard to see. I ran to the kitchen and turned everything off and opened all the windows. Literally none of my fire alarms went off there are 5 of them near the kitchen - hallway and 4 bedrooms. My house is not huge. There was smoke right under the hallway alarm. Never went off! I pressed the button to test it and sure enough all of the alarms were “working”. I’m so angry. This could have been a disaster. I’m throwing these away and going to find a better brand.

In order to use this detector you must either buy an adapter from them or do a rewiring job while standing on a ladder.

These detectors installed quickly and easily and activated and tested (hush button) as advertised. The production dates were recent. Came in original packaging with mounting screws.

I like that this is both smoke & carbon monoxide and that the batteries supposedly last 10 years. An older version of this, did not last that long. I also like that it has voice alerts. It will tell you whether it is going off for smoke or carbon monoxide, so you don't have to figure it out 3 years later. Easy to install, where we took down the old ones. It would have been great if you could just put the new one in the old screw holes, but that didn't work. Test then regularly.
