The function, ease of installation all make for a safer home. The warning sound is certainly designed to be heard. Not a cheap product but a needed one.

3 different false alarms. Hold the one that is going off beside the one that is not going off and nothing changes, so obviously one is going off on its own for no reason. Always seems to happen in the middle of the night. 2 years old. Garbage. Can't trust a device that goes off at random times.

My old smoke detector of the same brand was about 20 years old and finally broke down. I purchased this one of the same brand. It is very easy to install, very functional. The old one alerted me to a couple of kitchen fires quickly so I am reassured as to reliability, safety, sensitivity. Chirp frequency has never been a problem. Highly satisfied with this product.

I had to purchase another because the last one only lasted 2 years, not the 10 as advertised. The alarm kept going off, and there is nothing to be done except disable it and replace.

I like that this is not networked. You install it on your ceiling and that's all you need to do. You never will need to change a battery. You do need to replace it after 10 years, but this is true of all fire alarms. Check your house today!I also like that it combines carbon monoxide with smoke detection. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer and if you have any gas fired appliances in your house, or any other risk factors, you need to have a detector for it.What I don't like is the plastic on this. Two of three I bought installed easily. The third one, somehow the plastic tabs that it mounts on cracked. I had to put too much pressure to push in the activation tab. I would suggest manually pushing the activation tab before installing it. This may make it easier to put on. I'll try to post a picture of the activation tab when I get my replacement unit before I install it.

It is necessary to have both smoke and carbon monoxide. I picked this brand because I had it previously and it lasted 10 years. I thought I could reinstall into the same plate, but unfortunately I did have to change out the plate. I am not handy but was able to install it fairly quickly. Good design, low frills but battery on my last one lasted a long time. Doesn’t go off for trivial things but is sensitive to shower steam if I don’t close the door. Decent value for what you get.

I looked at quite a few dual alarms. I needed a battery operated one. This one is impressive. Beats the more expensive ones. It has a 10 year sealed battery. We’ll test it every 6 months. It says words and it will definitely do the job. No need to spend any more money than what this was. Definitely recommend this
