Had to update the detector in our living room and so far it is working perfectly. Though my dad and my brother both didn’t notice the blinking like on it until like two weeks later. There are not been any need for it to go off so I am thankful for that.

Having this carbon monoxide detector is beneficial because it provides early warning of potentially dangerous leaks, which can lead to explosions, fires, and serious health hazards, ultimately saving lives and property.

This smoke/CO detector is about the size of a hockey puck, just a little larger, and compared to some detectors, that is a nice size.Having the double protection this offers is a good idea. We're moving to a different house, and there's always that first couple of months where you're getting familiar with the house's eccentricities, so I'm all for the extra precaution of an alarm that detects both dangers. That's a big bonus (haven't tested it yet as far as the CO goes since the best way would be to sit in the garage with the car running and the door closed, and I'm not quite that crazy). It does have a shut-off button, so if you get a false alarm or you burn something in the kitchen, you're not climbing on a step ladder, yanking it off the ceiling, and pulling the battery out until the smoke clears. The drawbacks on these, however, seem to be many. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a flashing green light that lights about every thirty to thirty-five seconds, and that is kind of annoying. I can't imagine this in a bedroom, and with it mounted in the back room of our house, it's just a bit distracting when you're trying to read there. The alarm itself isn't all that loud, so you'll want to place it closer to where you're sleeping to be sure you will hear it. My wife is a sound sleeper, so I've hit the "test" button while she was napping, and it didn't get through to her. It got the dogs barking, eventually, and that woke her up. Just be sure you test it first from where you plan to mount it. So, if you're going to place it in the hall outside your bedroom, then try it with the door closed before you settle on just where you want it.The last thing is kind of an old man issue: the mounting screws attach to the battery door, and it was difficult to get that door open with one hand holding the device and the other working to slide the door. Imagine the problems with the device mounted to the ceiling? With those AA batteries, which might last six months, it seems like you'll be looking for a way to change them without pulling the detector off its mounts and having to reset the anchors. It's not a great design.I'd go 3.5 stars if I could, so be aware that there are some hiccups with this design, but it will probably do what it is set to do.

The only thing more important than your home is your family. With these smoke and CO2 detectors, you protect BOTH at the same time. Any time these detectors smell smoke or CO2, they set off very loud alarms, loud enough to wake even the soundest sleeper. You get 3 detectors with digital status displays, powered by 3 triple A batteries. The detectors monitor battery condition and alert you when the batteries need replacing. My first home caught fire and was partially destroyed by fire in 1976. By sheer luck, nobody was home, but we did have a fire alarm in a hall outside our bedroom doors. You need smoke detectors in kitchens, outside or inside bedrooms and in any room with a fireplace. You need CO2 detectors in the same locations to alert you of CO2 gas build up for the safety of yourself and your family. These detectors can save your life. EVERY home should have these detectors!

This 3-pack is providing both CO and smoke for about the same price as most plain smoke detectors. They look decent and seem to work. Like any smoke detector, it's easy to install. I'm using these in my rental homes, so I can have CO in every room instead of just one per level.

We have a large house, so this three pack is ideal. These smoke and carbon monoxide detectors run on 3 AAA batteries. I suggest that you install good quality batteries, then put these on your calendar to test them at least every 6 months. I have a plug in electric monoxide detector, and I am using these in addition to that. These are constructed well, and came boxed with manual.

Just grab your screwdriver and attach them to the ceiling. All you need is three AA batteries and you are set. I can’t say how well they detect a fire because I haven’t caused one yet, but I have confidence in the product. By ordering the set of three, you can place them in strategic places around your house that will give you the most warning to everyone.
