This is a unique cord amongst my collection, but it is quite budget friendly so I won't feel as compelled to use and reuse it, ending up with a bunch of cord laying around because I hate tossing working materials. The weave is tight and smooth to the touch like most nylon, but once its in a knot, the weave unravels and looks junky. See the last picture I have. Cutting the cord let's the outer shell fray significantly, and the inner cord actually left like cotton. Look at my third and fourth picture, showing how fine and easily the inner stuff pulls apart.I would consider this one-time use cord, and its not quite priced for it. I got some low-end stuff from the orange box store for the same price and it feels better than this stuff. The light orange color oddly also just makes it look cheap. It's ok if you consider it disposable or do to a specific job and stay in place, but its not my cable of choice for much

This is just perfect for what I need -- making coil baskets. Usually I like cotton rope for that kind of craft, but I thought I'd give this a try as an alternative. After all, it's extremely inexpensive. The rope is braided on the outside, and I haven't come across any irregularities or defects, so I'm fine with the quality. Held up to a ruler, it seems to be 1/4" as it says. It does have some stretch to it, for whatever that's worth. Considering this is cheaper than cotton rope, and won't degrade in the same way, it definitely has advantages.

The price for this rope is super low. So you can't expect top quality. Its an OK rope. is DEFINITELLY not 1/4 (6.35mm) but again for the price range is acceptable.

Red rope is super shiny. Could be a good thing if you need more visibility on it. This is the type of rope where it's braided cord wrapped around an inner white cord. Depending on what you're using it for this is a good thing or a bad thing, just make sure it's the type you need. I cut the end and then burned it with a lighter to "seal" the end.I think it will be good for things like tying down a tarp outside. If you need it for anything aesthetic like wrapping it around the handle of a chair to add color/padding I think you should go with a different rope. When it's stretched you can see the inner white cord. I was going to use a small portion of it for a crafting project and realized it's not good for that. But that's just a case of "buy the right thing for what you're doing."

Rated at 180 lbs. working load, this is very hefty utility cord. It is made of two layers of braided nylon. The outside protects the inner cord from abrasion. Most of the strength comes from the inner cord. Both layers being braided gives this great at absorbing shock. It also holds tension very well and the outside hold knots well and also works in friction tightening devices.Great tie-down or hauling rope. A good size to grip.Cutting the cord is best done with a "hot knife" or tape the place you want to cut then fuse it with a lighter. Just cutting it will make it frizz.

This rope is titled "smart&casual" and I think that casual is the operative word. I did not have a specific project in mind when I ordered it, and will use it casually as things come up. It seems like a fair price for the quality of the product (NOT nylon, even though it says that in the product description), and I would happily recommend it for low-stakes jobs. As other reviewers have mentioned, I don't expect to be able to use the rope over and over again, so keep that in mind when purchasing.

I recently received the SMART&CASUAL 100 ft 1/4” Nylon Poly Rope in black, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance! This rope is very strong and durable, making it perfect for a variety of tasks. I’ve used it as a string line holding ten solar outdoor lights on my balcony, for securing a flag pole, and for several other minor projects, and it’s held up beautifully every time. One feature that impressed me was some colored tape on one end of the rope. When you pull this end, it is pulled through the center of the roll which leaves the whole rope bundle untangled. You can simply pull however many feet you want cut it and the rest of the rope bundle stays tight. The nylon-polyester blend is high-quality—sturdy yet flexible, with just the right thickness to handle without being cumbersome. I was impressed by how well it resists fraying and wear, even after prolonged outdoor use. The 100-foot length is generous, giving me plenty of rope to work with for multiple projects, and the sleek black color looks great no matter where I use it.Knots tie easily and stay secure, which is a huge plus for crafting or utility purposes. It’s lightweight enough to carry around but tough enough to trust with heavier loads. Whether you’re an avid camper, a DIY enthusiast, or just need a reliable cord around the house, this rope is a great choice. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a versatile, long-lasting utility rope! Thanks for reading my review, I hope it helps!P.S. This is a good sized length of rope. It is much thicker than your standard 550 paracord, with a working load of 180lbs. Although it is mentioned in a couple places that nylon is a material used in this rope, it is in fact 100% polyester, so I don't know why nylon is mentioned at all.I will use this rope for dirty and wet work, and we will see how well it holds up. I do like the thickness, if you have a specific need for rope that is thicker than 550, this could be good.
