This i-cord knitting machine is decent. It is difficult to get started, but I think that is typical with all knitting machines, which is why the best practice is to start with waste yarn before starting the actual project. The instructions are helpful for getting started, but in step 4a I did need to pull the first loop over manually. The first few rows the loops did not slip down off the hooks every time before the hook caught the next row of yarn and I had to do so manually quite a few times. You definitely should turn slowly here until you have a few rows made. Once the cord came out the bottom and the clamp was moved onto it, the loops worked nicely and I was able to speed up cranking.No clamp is provided to attach the machine to a surface so you either need to hold it in the air, balance it off the edge of a table, or provide your own clamp. There is a bit of an edge to it so you could theoretically attach your own clamp. The instructions are a bit annoying in that they mention using a tapestry needle and yarn that are included, but they aren't actually included. I had both already so not a big deal for me other than the annoyance of having them mentioned as included in the instructions.Overall, this is a nice tool to add to my knitting tools.
