Item came damaged badly and ruined the product. There was a huge dent in the bottom. The product turned a chunky consistency. I’ve used this product before so I know it’s not supposed to look like this. Super disappointing.

I have never been disappointed by this product, an essential tool for various applications but especially water damage repair.

I'd been putting off repainting my daughter's bedroom for years because there were tears (some quite a few inches in area) in the drywall surface that I had no clue how to fix. A YouTube video demonstrated the process and recommended Gardz specifically, and it was a breeze! I applied the Gardz with a small foam roller one weekend, then the mud the next weekend, then sanded and painted the third. The finish was flawless: no sign whatsoever of the tears!

I tried other tips and tricks to seal an area of drywall that had the paper exposed. This is the product that worked. The larger area (8 inches by 10 inches) took two coats, but the smaller spots sealed with one.

I used the Zinsser Gardz Damaged Drywall Sealer to paint over wallpaper glue, and it worked perfectly. It sealed the surface completely, leaving a smooth finish that was easy to paint over without any issues. This product truly delivers on its promise of creating a durable, paintable surface even over tricky areas like leftover wallpaper adhesive. One thing to note is the intense smell during application—you’ll definitely need good ventilation while working with it. However, the odor disappears completely about two hours after it dries, so it’s not a long-term concern. Overall, this is a fantastic solution for prepping difficult surfaces, and I would highly recommend it!

Used to repair tears in drywall paper, command strip didn’t remove without damage? To repair the tear, light coat allow to dry and light skim with spackle next day and light sand and no one will know
