This is a sturdy piece for marking your angles or straight lines while wood working. It does not come with the metal ruler you see, but those can be picked up cheaply if you don't already have 4 or 5 lying around your shop. It is solid little thing that I only wish were maybe 2x larger or that they offered a larger size as an option. While this one is capable of doing what it is advertised doing, the markings are fairly close together and can be difficult to distinguish between say a 81degrees and 82 degrees(or any others) even with the ruler in place. For those of us with bad/older eyes, being able to distinguish between lines such as these when they are so close together can be a chore unto itself. What I like is that you can secure the ruler into the cradle and once you have established the angle you require, you can lock the cradle down keeping the measurement the same between each successive marking. That allows for repeatability in cuts which is as we all know important. I also like that this allows me to establish my angle prior to going to the mitre or table saw to ensure I am on target.Pricewise I would say it is right on, not too expensive. This is a nice little addition to the workshop that I can throw in my pocket while working around the shop and can easily check my angles before sending them to the saws.

What you see isn't what you get. The pictures mostly show this with a metal ruler. You would think the ruler is part of the deal. It isn't. The write up does say: "Straight Line Scribe" and does say: "Package Includes:1 x Angle Protractor" but the images tell otherwise. I dislike misleading descriptions. It's also tinier than it appears in the pictures. So, not happy with it.

I probably should have spent more time reading the ad. Had I done that, I would have realized that this does not come with the ruler that's shown in the picture on the ad. It is strictly just the angle tool. And, it's very small. That's it, it's made out of high quality steel or heavy aluminum and the adjustments are easy. I think the big problem here is trying to find the ruler that goes with it. I don't know why they just wouldn't sell them all together instead of forcing to consumer to buy two different things in order to make it work.

This is an interesting tool that will solve some layout problems for me. It is nice to be able to mark any angle instead of just 45 or 90 degrees with regular tools. Do note that it does NOT come with a steel rule; you need to provide that. In theory you could use a steel yardstick or even something bigger. Construction is solid.

Looks to be accurate but it didn't come with the ruler

I had a feeling based on some of the photos the ruler wasn't included. My suspicion was confirmed when I got it. The last bullet under the description does disclose only the angle finder itself is included. If you already have a stainless steel ruler, it's a nice little angle finder. If you don't though, this isn't really worth it when you can buy an angle finder that either has one included or doesn't require it.

First of all, you'll need to buy a steel rule for this to be completely useful. I was surprised that this was so small. I think that once I get a steel rule for this, it will come in handy for a lot of projects as it is made well, has a nice tough finish and good quality thumb screws for locking in the desired angle and being able to repeatedly mark it.

A little smaller than I expected, but that's not a bad thing. Very easy to use, glides easily in it's track. A straight edge is simple to attach and secure. The materials are quality, and functions great. I recommend this for finding angles on surfaces.
