The adjustment broke out of normal use about a month after using it. Feels sturdy and has little play but it’s fragile and may break as it happened to me.

This thing is built like a tank and has a ton of adjustable parts. It fits great on my rig and can adjust to fit any rig. There is a little play, but that's to be expected from a $200 follow focus. However, my biggest complaint, and the reason I no longer use this, is that the gear cannot be reversed. Currently, when the follow focus wheel is turned to the left, the focus on a Canon lens is supposed to go to infinity (and beyond). But, it reacts the opposite, pulling the focus closer to macro. And it drives me crazy! Even when another cam op uses it, they immediately respond with, "Wait, this is backwards." And there is no way to fix it! I have taken this thing apart multiple times and have found no way to reverse the gearing so it responds correctly. This one major flaw, in my opinion, renders this follow focus useless for me. But, if you can get used to the backwards gearing, then this will work for you.

Sturdy piece and works. There's no play in both the pieces I got, which is good. Though they work fine, I'm not a fan of the kind of gear rings included, takes some effort to mount them on the lens and screw in tight. The gear rings I like are the ones that strap on like a waist belt; those are available for under $10 so no big deal.Good service. The one of the pieces was missing the gear wheel. I notified seller and they mailed it the next business day.

Really amazing quality follow focus for the money. It blows every other sub $200 or $300 follow focus out of the water. Its built like a Tank very solid a tad heavy but worth it for the quality arm and gear box. I have been looking for a good Arri FF1 style focus since I used one 3 years ago, and I think this is the best I'v seen. The arm has a nice action to it and the rosettes on the arm really lock it in place far better then anything I'v seen. These solid rosettes solve what I thought was the key week point of Arri FF1 design. There is very little play in the gear itself. What tiny amount is there would have been solved if they had used tighter rosette pattern on the gear and were it attaches to the drive shaft/gear box. Overall the amount of play is hardly even 1 or 2% so it really dose not matter much. The other thing to keep in mind is the grease they use is thick so it provides a very nice smooth pull, but you do need to put a little more muscle into it then you would with some follow focuses. Personally I prefer a thick grease as it helps dampen my pulls better. The gears are the standard Red Rock verity have my own set so have not tested the ones that came with it. Overall Amazed with the price and quality of this FF. If your in the market for a very versatile follow focus like the Arri FF1 but want something a little more heavy duty then this is the prefect fit. Have only used it for 2 months now will report back if i have any future issues.

The build quality is nice and sturdy. The extra rings feel cheap, but I doubt they would ever break during normal use. The hard stops are super convenient and easy to set. Overall this product for the price is really good considering what competors are charging.

It's packed with features and really universal. I love the quick release clamp. Goes on and comes off in a snap. The articulating ARRI style arm is terrific when you need that versatility. The gear drive seems big enough but I haven't tried it out on the larger cine zoom lenses. Easy enough to buy and switch out to a larger drive if the travel isn't far enough to cover the lens. My main issue is the play. It's not much but it's there and it's enough to see a visible "click" when it engages on a long lens either due to the camera being slightly jolted or the focus pull not being smooth. Still useful and built like a tank but disappointing especially considering I started out with a completely amateur Fotodiox shoulder rig that came with follow focus and plastic matte box for the same price as this one item and that follow focus unit had absolutely no play.

First off, I love it because the three rings are good for different sized lenses, and way better than those other types you find which are cheaper, but they tend to come loose and are difficult to tighten, so I'd get the MOVO brand. It's also great for me, and probably a lot who use a lot of handheld or taller cameras that need the whole thing raised up in order to even touch the rings. This does that perfectlyThe bad parts, Since the two round areas you attach to your poles don't go all the way around, full circle, this thing can be hard to put on sometimes and will fall off if you don't tighten it enough. I also noticed that it lets you tighten it in both directions, but only one direction keeps it tightly in place, then other does not and can ruin shots. On more issue is the movable arm that helps raise the Focus System or lower it in order to properly connect to the rings, often tends to come unloose after shooting for a short amount of time. Other than those few minor issues, this is far superior to cheaper ones you can buy. I do WISH and TRULY BELIEVE because this this is only a 7 out of 10 (10 being perfect) It should cause $100 at the most. $200 was not worth this. I believe I could have easily found a better one for cheaper.
