About this item

  • This Certified Refurbished product is tested and certified to look and work like new. The refurbishing process includes functionality testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging. The product ships with all relevant accessories, a minimum 90-day warranty, and may arrive in a generic box. Only select sellers who maintain a high performance bar may offer Certified Refurbished products on Amazon.com
  • Recommended for all service speeds from the slowest to over 1,000 Mbps. A Broadcom modem chipset provides security from Denial of Service attacks. This modem connects to a WiFi router, computer, HDTV, game station, or streaming video device. Great for use with Whole Home WiFi or Mesh networks like eero, Google WiFi, and Orbi. (This cable modem does not have a built-in wireless router or telephone call capability. The Motorola MG7310, MG7315, MG7550, and MG7700 have a built-in wireless router.)
  • Requires cable Internet service. Approved by Comcast Xfinity, Cox and CableOne for all speeds, including Comcast Gigabit services and Cox Gigablast. Saves up to $132 per year in cable modem rental fees. (Savings are shown for Comcast Xfinity and vary by cable service provider. No cable modem is compatible with fiber optic, DSL, or satellite services from Verizon, AT&T, CenturyLink, Frontier, and others.)
  • One open and 3 masked 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports allow connection of any SINGLE device with an Ethernet port including a router, Windows/Mac computer, HDTV, game station. The multiple Ethernet ports are NOT for connecting multiple devices; they allow connection to a router that can bond more than one Ethernet port to achieve speeds over 1Gbps when supported by your cable service. Supports IPv4/IPv6. Includes Broadcom full-band capture digital tuner to enhance speed and save energy.
  • Active Queue Management (AQM) significantly reduces Internet latency, much better than popular 32x8 3.0-only cable modems. AQM results in faster page loads for all Web traffic and greatly enhances interactive applications like online gaming and video conferencing.

No issues. Wish it had USB port so I could use it as poor-man's NAS. But then I knew there was no USB when I bought it.

..it didn't come factory reset which took me a couple days and some headaches to realize. Once I figured that out it worked like a charm. I'm getting much faster speeds than my last modem and I wish I upgraded sooner. The modern and my router support LAG which is why I picked this modem but I'm a little gun shy due to the difficulties I had getting it working in the first place so I haven't attempted it yet. Looking forward to trying it soon though.

This is a fantastic modem. It's faster than Xfinitys best modem.

Wasn't in the original box, but it was packaged very well. The ethernet cable, AC adapter and modem all looked new. I couldn't find anything to indicate it had been used.Installing the modem is super easy, just connect the coaxial cable, ethernet (to my wifi router) and AC adapter. Disconnecting the old modem and trying to clean up my cable routing took a while and was a pain, but that's on me for always having such bad cable management. Don't forget to call your ISP to have the new modem activated on your account. This modem replaced a Motorola MB7420, which was a little to old for my current 600mbps internet plan. With the MB8600 I'm getting as much as 574mbps, compared to the low 400's with the previous modem. The MB8600 is physically larger than the MB7420, but runs significantly cooler.I'm quite happy with this refreshed/refurbished modem. It was far less expensive than a new one and so for it's working just like new.

I had purchased this unit because Xfinity said my old Motorola unit would not meet the current speed of my internet connection. I've had good luck with Motorola in the past and this one looked like it would do the trick. Didn't realize this was a "renewed" unit until I received it. Still, the unit came plainly packaged and with everything needed for quick hookup.Once installed, I was able to go through Xfinity's app to input the MAC ID# and within 20 minutes it was connected and working just as it should. I didn't see any significant change in the speeds with checked with Ookla, but it was running well nonetheless. For a unit that was roughly HALF of what a newly boxed one ran, I'd say this was a great deal!Go for it!

When modem is working it is working really well. For some reason it would randomly drop connection. It could go days without any issues and then it would start restarting. It would restart multiple times per day. You have to press the button in the back and wait few seconds to start it back up. Overall the speed is grate, but stability sucks.

All I had to do was plug it into the cable and my router i all ready had and called Midco cable and saved a bunch of money on rental. No speed changes! This one will not be great for 2GB speed of course so will need to upgrade sometime but for now, very happy with my purchase and the product.

This modem it doesn't support a Wi-Fi signal so you have to get a router separate I'm really impressed on the performance way better than that crap Xfinity has.
