This backup battery for an Arris telephone modem has been performing flawlessly for us so far. We've had it in service for several months now with now issues.

Battery did not work, would not charge in modem.Put in to return battery and you have to pay to ship back which cost more than the battery cost.So looks like I just through away my money.Would not recommend purchasing from this place.Eugene Montgomery

Easy to install into my Arris cable modem. However, this battery was never recognized by the modem, never charged by the cable modem. It never worked, though the part number is correct and the fit was perfect.Item was priced about 1/5th to 1/10th the price on offer at internet service providers. When you plug this battery into the cable modem this is what SHOULD happen, based on my perusal of manuals for the cable modem:1) The green "battery" led light should blink or light up, showing that the battery has been recognized by the Arris cable modem. This never happened for me with this battery, though it did for the battery it replaced. This vendor's battery never lit the cable modem's led light.2) The Cable modem will discharge and then fully recharge the battery over a period of days. This never happened for me.3) When you log into the cable modem (try IP address 198.168.100.1. This is like logging into your router or printer for information) and tab over to "CM State" and look at the bottom of the page. The modem will provide Battery Operation telemetry. However, the modem never was able to provide any battery telemetry. It looked to me that the battery and cable modem were supposed to communicate, but this never happened.4) Here is an easy test to see if the battery is working: after installing the battery, pull the electrical plug on the cable modem. Your phone service provided by your ISP should still work; your internet will not work. The purpose of the battery is to provide continual phone service in the event of a power outage. It is not intended to keep your internet service up. So you should still get dial tone from your phone, but your internet (via ethernet or wireless) will be down. With my battery, pulling the plug on the Cable Modem brought down internet and phone services, suggesting to me that the battery was not working as it should. You can see that this battery has to do more than just provide power during an outage. It has to communicate with the cable modem. The battery I received did none of this, so the cable modem did not charge the battery. This complexity might be the reason why other vendors charge 8x-10x more for the battery than this vendor does.I do not recommend this part under any circumstances. I encourage you to peruse other reviews: many customers complain that the battery never worked and the vendor's procedures for returning a sub $8 part make it non-economic to return.I note that Amazon's A-z guarantee seems to cover non working items during the first 30 days and provides for refund of your shipping costs, which this vendor's normal policies does not cover.Remember, your new battery is not working if after you install the battery you pull the power on the cable modem and you lose phone dial tone.

Followed the instructions exactly. After a week, the modem just flashed indicating a bad battery. I don't know what kind of racket this seller is running, but I seriously doubt they are selling legit new products. Now I have to pay to return the battery. Seriously, AVOID THIS PRODUCT. If you don't heed the negative reviews then you are just rolling the dice.

I love the fact that I can buy an older, used Arris modem and get a new battery, and now I don't have to pay $11 a month for Comcast!A little bit of hassle to get them to "provision" it, but it works! This battery is what allows the phone to still work if the power goes out, so go ahead and get one.
