FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

-------------------------

Will this give my pavers a wet look?

This product is not designed for a wet look, but will give pavers a slight low-gloss or satin angular sheen. For a gloss sheen/wet look, use MasonryDefender Gloss Paver Sealer.

-------------------------

Is this a clear product?

During application, it looks milky white. As it dries, it becomes totally clear.

-------------------------

Does this make my pavers slippery?

Extremely smooth or dense surfaces could become slick when wet. Typical clay or concrete pavers won’t normally become more slippery than they would otherwise. If you’re concerned about traction, add a 4 oz. container of MasonryDefender Non-Slip Additive to each gallon of sealer.

-------------------------

Does it have a strong odor?

No, this product is very low odor.

-------------------------

How many coats should I apply?

Apply 2 coats of Patio Paver Sealer. Allow the first coat to dry before applying the second. Don’t allow the product to form puddles. If this happens, use a push broom to spread the product around until it absorbs.

-------------------------

How long does it take to dry?

Dry time can vary, but will normally take 1-2 hours in warm weather, and low humidity. High humidity or cooler weather can lengthen dry times.

-------------------------

Can this be used on a paver driveway?

Yes, this product works well on all paver surfaces including driveways. Just be sure to allow 7 days of cure time before driving on it.

-------------------------

Does it resist oil stains?

Once treated, most oil stains will easily wipe off as long as they are cleaned up quickly. If stains are allowed to sit on the surface of the pavers and penetrate in, they can become difficult to remove. This product, like all acrylic sealers, will not hold up to brake fluid.

-------------------------

How much product do I need?

Coverage rates will vary based on how porous the surface is. For cement pavers, figure 75-150 sq. ft. per gallon. For clay pavers, figure 150-200 sq. ft. per gallon. This coverage rate is for 2 coats.

Works great to seal my paver patio in less than 15 minutes. Did 3 coats and will do again in the spring.

Beware, depending on your application, it could become slippery when wet. I sprayed a brick walkway and it can be slippery to very slippery when covered with rain water or any type of snow. I reached out to the seller to ask for solution and they responded by asking for more information......order #, etc. I provided the info and never heard anything back. On the plus side it gives a nice semi gloss finish and helps hold the sand in between the bricks in place. Took off a few stars for communication issues and slippery surfaces once product has cured

This product works well. I used it on patio pavers, pressure washed the patio, replaced worn polymer jointing sand, sprayed two coat of this low gloss sealer. The result a month later is the pavers sparkle in the sunlight, they look clean and bright (not glossy) and it helped stabilize the new jointing sand. Often when replacing jointing sand after the first hard rain much of it washes away, not this time the sealer really did help stabilize the sand. This produce was also about a 30% cheaper than what I could buy at the local big box store.

After I powerwashed and resanded our paver patio, I applied two coats of the sealer. Amazing results.Gives a low level shine, but the pavers are not slippery even when wet. Fantastic!

I've been using this in my driveway biz and it works quite well. I actually prefer this over the solvent-based version. Much easier dealing with this as compared to the toxic solvent versions I've used and still do in some situations. If you're looking for a sealer for your pavers, you won't be disappointed with this choice.Important Note! If your pavers were previously sealed with a solvent product, this will not work for you. You'll need to re-seal with a solvent-based product. In that case, look to Foundation Armor 350 available here. It's a premium product.

This is such a great product! We got our front walkway redone this summer and our contractor was going to charge us $1000 to seal it. He told us to go get a sealant. After much research we bought this one, and it was so easy to use! I did watch YouTube videos online before starting the project. This product gave our patio the perfect amount of “shine” without ever being slippery or to shiny.I also want to point out we got our back patio done 6 months earlier and did not seal it, and as you see from the second picture looks rough. We will be pressure washing and sealing it in the Spring with this sealant. If you are thinking of sealing your project, do it and buy this sealer!

Our paver walkways were built using polymeric sand so it mostly stays in place on its own. But the landscaping Co still recommended sealing it though. Last week I used a 6 inch roller and an old roller pan to apply most of it and a 2 inch brush for the edges. I let it fill the sand between the pavers until it puddled on top before rolling it out, so I had to buy more to finish a second coat. I'm ok with that and I like the way it looks. I have a sprayer that I used to apply cleaner on the walkways first but decided to use the roller for the sealer to get it to fill the gaps better. It rained yesterday and the walkways shed water nicely.

I bought this and the Chapin sprayer that was recommended. Unfortunately, the sprayer nozzle kept clogging and I couldn't get a consistent mist. I eventually bought a roller. Applying this with the roller was fast and easy.I applied this a few weeks ago, and it seems to be holding up well. It's a little less matte than I was expecting, but it doesn't give my stones and always wet look.
