This is a pretty nice set up for someone like me just starting to get into fishing and fly tying. The parts seem to be of decent quality. The case leaves a little to be desired when i got the kit everything was just laying loose when I opened it. As though everything was in place when shipped but just slid out and around if that is the case it will most likely do the same if I decide to transport it.

Works well holding vise is a little on the stiff side for holding a jig.

For my purposes, it is of poor quality and functionality. The jaws are large at the tip so difficult to hold smaller hooks (size 16 and smaller). It is difficult to fine tune and lacks movement in the head. The base clamp does not hold all that well and hard to actually tighten. The cross bars on the clamping screws are only ¼” long so give no leverage to tighten the clamps.Overall build quality is what you would expect for a $50 vice, very low. The included tools handles are extremely small diameter and not designed very well for their intended purposes.Overall I cannot recommend unless you just need something to hold hooks while tying terminal knots.If you are looking for a novice vice, I can recommend you spend a bit more and go with the one listed below. I like the kit, everything is good quality. Hopefully you weren’t really expecting the color it had you choose, cause you’re not gonna get it. I know I didn’t. I swapped from a different one to the green for the pretty color on the hook vise. The fish can tell what color vise you tie the flies on. If it’s not the right color they won’t bite, at least that’s gonna be my excuse for sucking at fishing!

I have an old vise that is 50 yrs old, so it took me a little timeto figure out how this one went together. Part of the problem was a nut was missing to hold the clamp end together. I’ll have to make something else work. It’s great not having to buy all the accessories separately as they’re included in this kit. I would recommend this for beginners or more advanced fly tyers!
