About this item

  • 2-IN-1 DETECTION: Alerts you to both smoke & carbon monoxide (CO) using a single, cost-effective detector.
  • HARDWIRED & 2 AA BATTERY BACKUP (Included): Operates on 120V AC wiring (installed in the ceiling) with 2 AA alkaline batteries that provide battery backup coverage during power outages.
  • ENHANCED SENSING TECHNOLOGY: Reduces false smoke alarms often caused by cooking. Comprehensively tested to meet the latest UL standards, meets UL 217 9th Edition, UL 2034 4th Edition, & FCC standards.
  • INTERCONNECT CAPABILITY: When one alarm sounds, they all sound, so you can get out faster. (Different models offer different interconnection options and requirements. See User Guide for more info.)
  • SELF-TESTING ALARM: Internal components ensure alarm is always operating as expected. Not a substitute for a manual push test, perform a button test once per week to verify alarm operation.
  • 3 LED NOTIFICATIONS: LED lights indicate alarm status, green = normal operation, amber = operating error, red = smoke or carbon monoxide detected & a loud 85-decibel alarm will sound.
  • TEST & HUSH BUTTON: Makes it easy to test the 5-inch combination detector and silence false alarms, should they occur.
  • 10-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that alarms should be replaced.

This 2 pack works great. Arrived on time, well packaged, same as in Home Depot and Menard's, but less expensive. by at least 10%. Installation was easy with no problems. I would definitely purchase from Amazon again vs. my local stores.

Super important that it's hard wired and now I don't have to plug in CO2 detectors also

We bought 2 of these 3 months ago to replace ones that were 10 years old. I am mid 70s, spouse is mid 80s. Son in law installed when he was here for Thanksgiving. Yesterday we got the low battery beep the old one batteries got replaced once a year or less). I spent several hours looking for instructions to change battery. There are none. So I looked at the how to install directions and followed them backwards. From what I am seeing. You can’t open the battery box unless you UNHOOK THE WIRES! Well isn’t that user friendly for un unmechanical female older homeowner! Now I get to call our handyman and pay him to replace a stupid battery! Sooooo - Kidde has lost my recommendation and my business forever.

Great produce. The quality is good, very accurate alarms, nice size, durable and loud noise and voice alerts to wake you up and notify you of problems.

After finally finding out which smoke alarm was beeping at me like a tiny, relentless banshee, I ordered this as a replacement. It arrived quickly—faster than my patience was wearing thin—and installation was surprisingly easy. I’m no electrician, but even I managed to get it up and running without calling in reinforcements. The LED indicators are a nice touch, giving clear signals instead of the usual cryptic chirps that leave you questioning your life choices at 2 AM. It also syncs with other alarms, which is great for safety but slightly terrifying when testing them—like setting off a mini fire drill in your own home.Pros:✔ Quick and easy installation✔ Clear LED warning lights (no more mystery beeping!)✔ Interconnects with other alarms for full-home protection✔ Meets updated safety standardsCons:✖ The alarm sound is intense (which is the point, but still… it will wake the dead)✖ No option to silence minor false alarms quickly—toast lovers, bewareOverall, it’s a solid upgrade that does its job well. If only it could also detect which alarm is beeping before I lose my sanity next time!

You gotta replace your alarms after 7 years or they may not work so here I go. Bought these babies to replace the same brand. Easy switch out, sleep well again.

Previous home owners installed cheap smoke detectors in the kitchen area which would constantly trigger when I was cooking. Swapped over to these and no more false alarms. They're very loud and have different tones for fire and CO. Easy to rewire and mount and was even able to add to home assistant with an external module
