Arrived in the post yesterday. Very nice thermocouple.A few months ago I cannibalized a thrift store toaster, Added a 40da SSR, a PID, and a thermocouple - did it all as a mock up for a heat treating oven I'm building with Kanthal wire for element. So when this arrived yesterday it was easy to swap out the other thermocouple for this one. Works great – I only went to about 700 degrees with her - hoping for 2300++ with the oven. Made a pizza to celebrate.This thermocouple is a lot nicer than the other I have - It has nicer / beefier stainless fittings, a 90 degree bend on 3/16 stainless tube after sensor fittings, braided 1/8" braided stainless insulation on the cable, and I think it is longer than the, marketed, 2 meters. I'm 6' - I put my foot on the fittings at the 90, lifted up the cable, and it goes about a foot over my head. Exactly what I needed to measure oil temperature on my SCAG walk-behind. Passed thru a drain plug fitting and its holding in-place perfectly. No drips or leaks, and is definitely working. The thicker sheathing should handle the heat and vibration well, but I wont leave it in there forever. Just long enough to play with some ideas. Appears as accurate and my other K-types and is doing exactly what I need it to do. Good TC for a good price!
