Bought this because I prefer a door for my gas capAd says it’s for JK models but I wish the seller noted it’s ONLY FOR 4 door JK. NOT FOR 2 door JKLocation hole for the housing pin is at 12oclock of the body of the jeep. The housing pin on the gas door is at 9oclockI had to do some research online as to why it’s different before I cut the pin off or make a new hole on my jeep bodyThank god for jeep forums. Was able to figure out that this gas door was not for my 2doorReturned and refund.

Excellent quality. Easy install. The only issue was the nub that keeps the thing oriented. The nub is oriented at the 9 o-clock position, where as on my 2011 wrangler the corresponding hole is at 12 o-clock.

for $28 it is fair value... but be prepared to not have the door close fully and the spring mechanism be flimsy.

Only took around 10 minutes to install. Be sure to unscrew and remove your left tail light for access to the fill neck flr your gas tank. Start by using a screwdriver or other sturdy tool like a tack puller to push the two visible tabs down on your existing fuel cap housing, and pull the housing out and away from the vehicle. You will be able to pull 2/3 of the housing away before you need to rotate and shimmy it to disengage the 3rd hidden clip. Gently rotate and pull the housing to work the gasket up and over the neck and the whole thing will pull out. At this point, take a flathead screwdriver and push out the tab holding your gas cap to the housing and set it aside for later. Dont set it on the ground or on carpet, as you dont want particles falling into your gas tank. Now comes the fun part. Install your new gas cap i to the new housing. You may need to crimp it a bit with some pliers to get it in the hole. Next, Install the new gasket on the new fuel door housing by pulling one side in as far as itll go, and then use a key or something flat to help work the lip of the gasket up and over the plastic make sure the domed side is pointing towards the door. Once installed, you can grease or soap up the gasket or push it over the neck with the screwdriver you used earlier like i did. Once the gasket is sitting around the neck and can freely spin, but not pull off, orient the fuel door to the correct orientation on your jeep and then press the whole housing firmly into the side panel, until it snaps. Turn the hex bolts a little bit until they feel snug, but do not overdo it. And thats it!

The cover looks great but it isn't a good fit. The alignment pin fit perfect for me, but after one bumpy back road, that pin quickly broke and the cover rotates on any drive. It also now has a noticeable gap between the metal of the Jeep and the cover housing. I will eventually take it off and add a shim or at least some double sided tape so it does not spin shift every single time I drive the Jeep.

Great product. Easy install, only took about 10 minutes. I would recommend watching a couple of YouTube videos on install before going at it. Very easy but the paper instructions were not very good. Definitely install the rubber gasket before trying to install the unit and I put a light coat of silicone grease (dish soap would work too) on it to help it slide over the filler neck.Pros: easy install, looks great, comes with everything you need to install it, even the Allen wrench, and there are plenty of how to videos on YouTube to walk you through it.Cons: included instructions only come with pictures and no written directions, door doesn't open a full 90° but it does open far enough for gas nozzle.

Good solid product. Make sure you go over the install directions carefully and take your time. It's a very quick install, but like a couple other reviews state you need a lubricant for the o-ring/seal. And watch the pin on the back of the fuel door, make sure it's perfectly lined up. Easier to take the fuel door off to install also.Looks great on my 2018 JKU!

The Jeep Unlimited Rubicon, or any wrangler for that mater does not come with a fuel door, so this is another thing Jeep forces you to purchase aftermarket. I must say I've tried a few already and this one by far is the best! No flapping or rattling. Super easy install. Super clean looking! DEF WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

The instructions were picture based only, and were a little hard to follow at first, but all in all, this was a very simple install. The fuel door doesn’t open up a full 90° but it looks like it won’t hamper the gasoline filler nozzle at all. The instructions have you removing the 6 hex head screws for some reason, but this was completely unnecessary as the entire assembly snaps into the body hole with 4 plastic clips. The real difficulty comes in getting the rubber o-ring over the vehicle filler neck. MAKE SURE to install this o-ring on the fuel door assembly first. It is extremely helpful if, before you push the entire assembly into place, you lubricate the fuel filler neck o-ring with a small amount of dishwashing liquid. This will allow the filler neck to slip through much easier. Note: don’t over tighten the hex screws. 4 of the six are threading into brass knurled inserts that are heat pressed into plastic. If you over torque these screws, the brass inserts will spin and lose their grip.
