In my recent Arduino project I needed 4 'operational' lights to indicate when certain outputs were live. These indicator lights are well made and fit in a 7/8" hole perfectly.The screw terminal wire connections made hookup a breeze. They are certainly bright enough.Would buy again

I ordered these for an art installation. They produce a nice even glow and are easy to use (either AC or DC). The lamp holds 4 red LEDs that spread the light very well.The reason I'm docking a star is that at least one of the lamps was defective. It was very confusing at first because the lamp would light when I touched the power supply to the leads, but not when the power supply wires were screwed in. This turned out to be a loose internal wire that only made intermittent contact. So far, I've only had this happen with one, but it's not a great sign.

This 10 pack of 12v red indicator lights is really similar to another brand that I've gotten before. They fit a 7/8" hole and have a plastic backing ring. The specifications are clearly marked on the barrel of the lights. There are no pigtails, instead the wires are attached by two screws on the back of the unit.Pros: They are fairly big and bright, but not too bright. You don't want a glaring light on your dashboard. I've gotten other colors from this brand and the red and green are the brightest of the bunch. I also tested all 10 of them and all 10 work correctly.Cons: Some of them have small abrasions on the lens caps. They were packed in small bags, 2 at a time, inside a larger bag, but some of them came out of the small bags and were rattling around.

These indicator lights aren't fancy, but they are surprisingly good for only $1 apiece (at the time of this review). All tested units lit reliably and brightly. They light up equally regardless of the polarity of the connection (six LEDs arranged as a rectifier circuit such that four LEDs will always light regardless of the direction the current flows). When lit, these indicators are easy to see in full daylight, but not overpowering in the dark.I live near a busy railroad line and the vibrations tend to loosen the mounting collar on these. I have to take measures to prevent that, where higher-end lights typically stay tight on their own.Overall, these are a good buy for general project use.
