Had one in the early 2000's was a solid unsealed headset. And this one is just as reliable.

Yes it is an FSA headset. Description states sealed cartridge bearings. THIS IS NOT SEALED. Would not have purchased if it was stated unsealed. I have had numerous FSA headseats including the discontinued Skypilot which was great. Will be returning.

I've bought this headset 2x before. I use it for my surly touring bike and mountain bike. I would say it's heavy duty and I haven't had a problem. Bought this one for girlfriend's frame. I recommend measuring the headset tubing on your bike: inside diameter and outside diameter. And measure the diameter crown race on the fork. That way you'll know you got the right headset. Can always look up YouTube videos on that stuff. Its important bsibyou don't buy the wrong thing.

You really can’t go wrong with one of these. The cups are burly. The lower bearing cup is MASSIVE, I don’t see any way you could ever break the cups on this headset. It also has a very oversized lower bearing that is very nice. This headset is one of the smoothest non sealed headsets I have ever seen. The difference between this one and a normal sized FSA that it replaced is incredible. I’m very happy with this headset.I do want to mention, the ad listed this headset as sealed but it is NOT sealed. These are standard loose bearings in cups. It works well but doesn’t have the sealed advantage.

This is a legit The Pig Headset from FSA. The picture is likely an older version. If you go on the FSA site you will see it's a The Pig Headset. Excellent quality as you would expect from FSA. To be honest this one looks a little better than the older one.

Love the headset! I know it isn't what was pictured but the headset that came is awesome. It is so much smoother and sturdier that my stock original. I don't know a lot about these but if you're looking for a great priced, we'll made smooth operating headset this is it!

Great for what it is. That being, a heavy-duty no-frills headset at a reasonable price. It works just fine on my Surly Crosscheck set up for touring. No wear issues after a year of regular commuting with about 20 lbs of gear and 270 lbs of me on the bike. Note that you're going to need a headset press (not a hammer) to install this little beast.

I've used this headset on my specialized and now on my Fuji comp, it's by and far my favorite headset. Super strong built product and for under $40 This is a F$#@!NG STEAL. My local bike shop is asking $85 for the same headset.

I have two, one on my loaded touring bike and the latest one on the Mongoose Dolomite. Light years better than the factory headset on the Dolomite, much smoother, precise and sealed. While this headset is heavy, I have had no issues with the one installed on the Touring bike and doubt I will ever need to replace it. If you are building a lightweight carbon race bike and this one fits you will hate it for it's weight. If you are looking for a rugged headset for use in Tandems, mountain bikes, Touring bikes and weight is much less of a concern, and you are looking for a headset that can handle load, heavy shock, or live a hard life, I cannot think of a better headset for such a low price. No, it isn't a cartridge bearing design, its balls in a cage. No it's not as pretty as a Chris king with fancy anodizing, low weight and great engraving, but it's a humble press in headset that does it's job excellently.
