There is something wrong with these bearings. They are the right size for a 1976 Raleigh road bike with cotter pin cranks, however the axle with these bearings does not turn freely. Compared with one of my surviving old bearings these bearings create lots of friction and binding.Update: Ended up removing the balls from the two ball bearing cages, taking 2 balls from one of my old ball bearings and assembling the crank with 10 loose balls on each side. That worked like a charm.

Many thanks to 'Machine shop 66' for his/her review of this product. I failed to measure bearing diameter correctly, ordered the wrong parts...etc. The aforementioned review really helped me out. So after getting correct bearings, an old MT bike came back to life with a lot of grease and few jovial swear words. After a couple months of hard, rough riding, these replaced bearings have held up on a scrapyard rescue bike. I did not replace cones (axle) or cups, just cleaned and greased 'em up good with these new bearings. If I had to think of a con, it would be lack of technical support from the vendor (unless I simply did not look closely enough). Otherwise, right product for right application equals perfect performance.

I bought a couple for the bicycle shop, they cost so much there, some one stole the last bicycle, So I got a good used bike & rebuilt it, A new walmart bike has tires that last one year. A used bike need most of the bearings replaced, but this time I ordered enough on line, so that it didn't cost so much.

When I was rebuilding my grandson's mtn bike I discovered the bottom bracket bearings had turned to bearing dust. Amazon made it easy to choose the right bearing and they fit perfectly. By simply measuring one ball and counting them I was able to get an exact replacement. Very pleased.

I bought a few of these bearings to replace the bottom bracket bearings on my department store quality bikes. They work well and are relatively easy to replace for the "do it yourself" bike mechanic if you have the proper tools.I will never quite fully understand the "low price" "high shipping" sales/marketing concept but even with shipping these work out to be a good price for decent quality bearings if you purchase a few of them.
