I bought a used Delta in questionable condition, which included tracking problems, so I did a number of upgrades and a new spring was one of them. I had one on my previous saw and it worked well, so I bought another one. I was kind of shocked to see the price increase, but my saw is worth about $1,000.00 now so it is a small fraction of the rehab.

I bought this in an effort to get my 14” circa 1980s Buffalo brand Delta knockoff bandsaw working properly. This spring fixed my tension issues. Highly recommended!

For those that might be wondering or looking for a new spring this one fits and working perfectly wit the old Grizzly 18” Model G1012. To stock one mine came with, might actually not be stock as my is second hand never much and squashed. Tension is more accurate then the one might came with. I’m happy.

This is the third spring I’ve purchased ( for three different saws ) so obviously I’m satisfied with them. The original springs get tired and these will bring new life to your saw but they certainly get a hefty price for them. Otherwise five stars.

Upgraded tension for a 6” riser block. Fit perfectly on my Harbor Freight Central Machinery 14” bandsaw. I now run a 105” by 3/4” 3TPI blade for re-saw! Cheap upgrade for better cuts.

What a difference a spring can make. Turned an old bandsaw into something entirely different. Hard to describe in words just how much of an improvement this one change made.

Fits well into Reliable 16". In one of the sites a longer spring was recommended, but as I found this is probably as long as what can fit into my band saw.The length of the OEM spring it replaced is shorter now but I cannot be sure if the OEM spring has not been compressed over time. OEM spring was no longer tensioning the blade properly. This is a good replacement.

My 14" Jet bandsaw is about 10 yrs. old. I did not know (and still don't know how to tell) if my spring should be replaced. However, I was doing some upgrades & routine maintenance so decided to replace the spring. Wow, I could feel a difference right away. Much easier to set the tension and the tension release bar works with a lot less effort. Maybe 10 years is the mark? It's inexpensive and very easy to do.
