Below are the steps on how to install polyurethane band saw tires:

  • Make sure to unplug your band saw whilst changing any parts or servicing it.
  • Urethane band saw tires don’t require adhesive, but they do need to be stretched on.
  • Remove the old tires, and clean the machine of any dirt, debris, or adhesive.
  • The smaller tires can be fitted by stretching them on by hand.
  • If you can’t get the tires on by hand stretching them, clamp the tires to the wheel. Work the tire around the wheel in both directions and add clamps as you go.
  • A dowel rod or smooth tool can be used to pry the tire on.
  • Once the tire is securely on the wheel, the stretch will need to be smoothed out.
  • With a dowel between the tire and the wheel, roll it around the entire wheel.

These worked great. So hard to get on but perfect fit and should hopefully last another 30 years.

Was used on a ridgid 14" bandsaw. Worked as needed, Originals were dry rotted and machine would not keep a blade on. Changed the rubber tires and been a good saw again.

Perfect fit for my jet 14 inch bandsaw. Actually runs a little quieter now. Original tires turned hard and sections were breaking out. They are a tight fit, but go on reasonably easy.

This fit nice and tight on the wheels and gives a smooth performance. Definite upgrade from the factory tires.

The tires are replacing rubber ones.I was reluctant to switch to try this material, but they seem to be working just fine. Time will tell how long they will last. It is quite a stretch to get them on but I emmerced them in boiling water for a good five minutes and they still went on with some difficulty. It would be impossible to install without doing this first.

These have brought my band saw back to life. Easy to install and I have used them for 8 months with no problems, so they are extremely durable. I have been impressed with how smooth they are and the vibration level has been cut down. Super functional , durable product.

After a warm bath I was able to mount the tires on the band saw wheels; it’s now very quiet. Happy with product.

70 year old "tires"" on Delta band saw needed replacement. These are working well one day one. Time will tell. Fairly easy to install after heating in boiling water.

Like many other reviews, I will say that these are a pain in the a&& to install. On first try, it seems they are not made for the wheels of your saw, because they are so small. That being said, it is important that the wheel covers be extremely tight to the bandsaw wheels, since they are spinning. If they were loose, they would be floppy and they would not work. For me, I found the best way to install them was to aggressively stretch them a bit by putting one section under my shoe, and then pulling up very hard to make them slightly longer. Even at that it takes a lot of effort to install them, sort of like when you tried to put a tire on your bicycle when you were a kid. But they do fit, and they do work. My saw has never run better!
