These are a good protractor to get started and we have used them for years but honestly there are comparable quality ones on the market now, in fact right here on Amazon, for half the price. These are not durable enough for my staff. The battery tray tends to come loose which results in intermittent operations. And the readout seems to jump around after they have been well used. Perhaps dust getting inside the gears? These were good several years ago but as mentioned there are better options out there for half the cost now

I use this for guitar building , am very happy with the product , its easy to use , very spot on accurate, should have bought this sooner, highly recommend this protractor, dont have any kinds of problems with it what so ever , people say that it is hard to lock in place , but i dont see a problem with it at all , how tight do they need it to lock it in place for crying out loud so they can transfer an angle , but anyway great product and great price

The prices on digital protractors are insane but this Wixey brand is a great value at about one fourth the cost of many other brands. This thing does what it is supposed to do - measure angles. The aluminum finish is well done and the electronics are easy to use with an auto shut off. A great tool value for the price. Don't buy those expensive digital protractors - get the Wixey and save yourself some bucks. A nice little tool for angle measuring and miter work on a small scale.

I am installing crown molding and wanted to know the angles of my corners. This tool does the job with ease. I also use the tool to verify the 45 degree bevel setting on my miter saw.The one I received from Amazon was defective in that the battery became weak within less than an hour of installing it. I purchased some new batteries at a store and they too died within a few hours. I contacted the manufacturer via email about this issue and they promptly responded. They said I could send it back to Amazon or to them for a replacement. Since the product was light weight, I sent it back to the manufacturer and they promptly sent a new replacement one which works perfectly. I had it for several months now and have not needed to replace the battery and the readings are extremely precise and consistent. This is truly a great tool to have.

Used it only a couple times so far in the shop. I like it, it`s very accurate. And it feels very solid and has a high quality feel to it. About the only thing negative I can say is that I wish it has a different 'locking' mechanism to lock in the angle from changing. It has a slider tab at the bottom of it and it`s hard to use. Hard to 'catch' with a finger tip or nail, and hard to slide to a firm position to lock it. A wing nut on the top would be much better imo. It`s not like it`s floppy loose if you don`t tighten it. But if you`re not careful, say if you visually transfer an angle to a table saw, it could move.

This digital protractor is one of my regularly used tools in my workshop. It helps me set up tools to cut precisely at the angle I want, repeatably measuring to the 1/10th of a degree. Now I use a square if I want to get close and this if I want to be precise. This is my most-used Wixey device, also have their angle gauge and planer gauge, all great quality, precise, and repeatable. Wixey definitely has my business for digital measuring devices.

I haven't had this protractor for very long, but I have used it many times. I'm amazed at how it puts my mind at ease when lining up my table saw and the pieces I cut. I use it to align the blade 90 degrees to the table, the fence parallel to the blade, the miter gauge perpendicular to the blade, and the piece I'm about to cut at the perfect angle. It is a well behaved tool that turns off when I forget. Now I don't know how anyone can get along without one of these; especially this one. It is very accurate and very well built. By the way, it has magnets on the edges so it lines-up very well to metal objects.

I bought this before installing baseboard moulding in my basement and found it very handy. Then I did the moulding in a stairwell with two landings...it would have easily taken me twice as long if I hadn't used this to measure all the angles. If you're doing any kind of trim work, you have to get one of these. The only complaint (as another reviewer pointed out) is that this thing will not lock on an angle, even though it has a mechanism to do so. But then, if you write down the angle the first time, it's not hard to transfer it to the cut; hard to mark down the rating for something like that when it saves so much time, effort, and frustration otherwise. Also very handy for calibrating your mitre saw or any other tools that make angled cuts. Definitely money well spent.
