I learned about the goniometer at physical therapy for my knee but my brain is always in motion. I actually bought the goniometer as a quilting ruler - a protractor for setting the exact angles for quilting a replica of the stained glass window in my church. Now many of my quilting friends are buying them since I shared it with them. It's all about marketing. My quilting friends and I are ecstatic! My knee is not.

I'm happy with this product. I like that it has inches along both arms so I can do the functional reach test. Nice thick plastic. Opens and closes smoothly.

While I am not a doctor, I was very curious as to the range of motion of my joints and the impact of growing older would have to the range of motion. The tool definitely feels a little flimsy and I am unsure of the accuracy as I don't have anything else to compare it with. But not bad for the price!

This goniometer works fine and is helpful in measuring my ability to bend my knee after surgery

I didn't get this for Orthopedic use, I use it for construction use such as finding and repeating angles for cuts in lumber, etc..It's a fairly sturdy plastic, the markings are easy to read and the rivet is fastened tightly so the angle measurement you selected will remain stationary as you use it.For me, it's a handy device to have in the toolbox, and I'm sure it's just as useful for it's originally marketed (Orthopedic) purpose.

This tool is well calibrated and easy to read. I like that it is made of a latex free, clear material, which measures about 1/16th of an inch. It is flexible and not brittle, so I don't have to worry about it snapping if I jostle it around in a bag. It appears that the measurements are sandwiched in between the tools' layers rather than printed onto the surface, so the markings won't rub off with repeated cleaning. The tool's fulcrum rotates freely, allowing for easy measurements.

This review is for: BodyMed 12 Inch Medical Spinal Goniometer Measurer – 360° ISOM Calibrated Scales – Physical Therapy Rehab & Recovery Essential Orthopedic Angle Protractor for Measuring Range of MotionI ordered the full 12 inches one and it can extend out longer than that when opened up. I do arts and crafts and end up using a lot of different things to make cuts and designs and this has come in helpful for larger projects since I only had the 6 inch, thus 12 inch is a step up.This is smooth on the swivel and thick plastic. You can see through both inches and centimeters.Definitely a useful tool for school and other disciplines.
