AmSteel-Blue is a high-performance 12-strand single braid of 100% Dyneema fiber, AmSteel-Blue yields the maximum strength-to-weight ratio, very low stretch, and is stronger than the same sized wire rope—but it's so light, it floats. It has extremely low stretch, superior flex fatigue, and wear resistance. Made with Dyneema fiber, AmSteel-Blue is Samthane coated, which enhances the fiber's already high abrasion and cut resistant characteristics. It's the highest strength single braid Samson makes. Samthane coating enhances this rope's already high abrasion and cut resistance. AmSteel-Blue is recommended for split-drum winch applications. It is not recommended for use on H-bitts, capstans, or cleats if surging or rendering the rope is required. AmSteel-Blue has been verified by ABS according to MEG4, and is type approved by: ABS, BV, DNV, Lloyd's, and RMRS. AmSteel-Blue is available with the option of sustainable, bio-sourced fiber. Now, reducing your impact on the planet doesn't mean reducing quality or sacrificing strength. Sustainable Sourcing: Samson is now sourcing Bio-based Dyneema fiber from DSM that will be available for AmSteel-Blue and other select HMPE products. This fiber is sourced from raw materials in the paper and pulp industries and utilizes the mass balance approach. Samson customers can receive more sustainable products with the same superior performance. Note: 7/64” Amsteel Blue only has 8 strands. Average Tensile Strength is 1,600 lbs.

I used this to set up an aluminet tarp as a shade structure. Aluminet tarps are not meant to be tensioned too tightly, and the grommets can pull out and tear fairly easily from pulling. So to keep the tarp secure and relatively tight, we made a "frame" of this cord, ran it through the grommets, and left extra space. The corners of the tarp are secured to the cord with elastic bobbles. Worked perfectly, because I can tension this cord as much as I like without it stretching or pulling, and the elastic bobbles stretch to accomodate the tarp. I have a nice straight and flat tarp without putting a lot of stress on the grommets! The cord is super sturdy and durable, and difficult to cut (which means it won't break easily). The company is also very responsive. Originally my order went to the wrong address, so I contacted them to get it replaced. They were willing to send out a new order for me free of charge, but the person who got my package actually came and delivered it to me! I appreciate their good customer service, even though I didn't end up needing it.

This line is light, strong, and versatile. I used it to make a dog run but I have plenty left over and will use it on our boat or for other projects. I have to say, the black is pretty cool.

I don't know much about rope, but I googled what to use for hammocks and this product came up a bunch, so I bought it. I was shocked when I opened the package. I thought I was buying rope, and this stuff is about the diameter of a shoelace! It looks more like string to me and I'm still trying to get over how I spent $33 on this! The thought of hanging from this in my hammock makes me anxious. I was imagining something 5 times this thick. I'm rating 4 stars because I feel like the image should include some perspective for those that don't know rope terms and sizes. I should have done more research I suppose.

7/64 in black Works great. Strong and easy to splice. Made daisy chain rope mod for my hunting sticks by splicing it together after the first 18 inches. Doesn't have much stretch and grips the tree surprising well. Would recommend this to anyone looking for less weight and no buckles.

I keep a 100 foot hank of Amsteel blue in all my cars, tractors and riding mowers. It's small and weighs almost nothing. Comes in handy when I get stuck in a ditch. A double strand will just about pull anything. Amsteel is a little slicker than most cordage and does not hold a knot very well. But, on the other hand, it does not bind easily either. 550 paracord will handle most jobs, but if you are betting your life on a piece of cordage, go Amsteel.

The combination of Samson quality and Dyneema strength simply cannot be beaten. The very small diameter and weight of this product has unbelievable strength and that's important to me when you must carry all your gear on your back....both ways. This cordage takes and holds standard knots, doesn't seem to mind tight bends and is strongly resistant to abrasion. Prusik loops of the same size cordage grip well when this product is used as a very taught ridge line for supporting netting or fly tarps. This is now my "go to" cordage for all general purpose usage.

I used this 7/64th Amsteel to make slings and structural ridgelines for my families hammocks. This material is really fun to work with, and splicing is a cool skill to learn. I used the entire 100 feet for 3 hammocks, although I do not immediately need more I placed a second order and have another 100 feet on the way because I enjoyed working with it and want to show my Scouts. The seller shipped immediately, the product came in a week early!!!!!Very happy, thank you!
