Definitely works. You must know how to use or you will be disappointed. Definitely a learning curve with this product. Not for a DIY person

Typical 3M product: Excellent Quality! But, not inexpensive. I used it for pre-paint prep here in So Cal where we’re limited in what products we can use. It worked great! But, it’ll cost ya a bit more.

Bought this to install bodyside moldings on my toyota as per the installation instructions. Worked exactly as described and cleaned/prepped the surface perfectly. I wish it came in a smaller size as mentioned in previous posts.

Works well. Used as a prep prior to applying a clear protective coating on my car. Wished they sold a smaller amount.

Buyer beware! When I received this product there was no seal on the bottle. There was solvent odor at all. The liquid inside was more like a soap with bottles in it. I used some on a clean part and all it did make the part dirty. It Left steaks of goo all over. No matter who much you tried you could get a clean part. I ended up using IPA to this garbage off. I suspect the bottle was used and refilled with soap or something.

I wanted to install a sharp looking stick-on burled wood dash in my Thunderbird. The manufacturer of the stick-on product suggested that I first use Prep Solvent 70 to thoroughly remove any vinyl/plastic conditioner, grime, or other substances that would have a negative effect on the adhesive backing of the burled wood trim that I wanted to install. I purchased this solvent and was very happy with the results. It is easy to use, it did not damage the vinyl, metal or plastic surfaces I applied it to, nor did it remove the color of the vinyl, metal or plastic surfaces that I applied it to - it only removed the conditioner, oils, grime and crud that you may not see but is there on the surface. After the solvent did its work, it was easy to remove the solvent residue (with water and a paper towel) leaving a nice, squeaky clean surface for the adhesive backing to stick to when I applied the dash trim. I highly recommend this solvent to clean vinyl, plastic or metal if you want to apply any adhesive-backed product to those surfaces. If you don't properly prep the surface, the adhesive will eventually let go. Especially if you are applying something to the interior of a car where temperatures can get very high.
