I never thought I'd be raving about something that was common only forty years ago when everybody got their TV through an antenna, but, after ditching DirecTV, after 86'ing Dish, and saving almost a hundred bucks a month, I wanted to watch the "news" - in real time. Actually, I'd seldom been watching the news "live," as I used the DVR to skip the commercials, so it was always recorded on a delay. Now, when I watch the local Los Angeles stations that are broadcasting to the antenna, and they say it's, for instance, 8:28 am... dang if it isn't 8:28!I live about an hour's drive from Los Angeles (I'm talkin' on a light-traffic day) and between my house and most of the 'local' stations is a large hill right behind the house. At first, when I attached the Gxegauy Amplified HD Digital TV Antenna, I got a couple of PBS stations out of San Bernardino. Not what I was trying for, but I'd only been giving it a quick test, inside the house, behind the sliding glass patio doors facing that big hill.A friend suggested I use the already-installed coax cable that was attached to the previous Dish and ATT satellite dishes to get the antenna up and away from the house. I used that cable, outside the house - but still under cover from the weather - and - what a difference! It's, frankly, everything I was hoping for and far better than I was expecting. It works for me.

The antenna is very easy to setup straight out of the box (the antenna itself is very light weight). It comes with a user guide with setup instructions along with troubleshooting information. The cable/cord from the antenna to the tv is quite long - so it should be adequate for anyone concerned about whether or not the antenna itself will reach a window (which is the best location for placing the antenna). You will want to test your channel reception with the short range and the long range options. I live north of Atlanta and wasn't sure with selection would be best. I initially tried the short range setting (which is the default setting) and found that I was receiving most of the channels that I wanted except for one. So I switched to the long range option, completed the tv channel scan and then checked my channels and found that the one that I was missing came through. The picture and sound quality for the channels that I am receiving are very good.Overall, I'm very happy with the antenna. I've found that I don't watch as much tv as I used to (I had Youtube TV but they increased their prices so I thought that I would nix the service and go with antenna tv). I'm able to keep up with local/national news with local channels via the antenna. Plus, I still have the ability to stream specific services (like HBOMax) using my FireTV stick. All of this at a fraction of the cost with YouTube TV.Would definitely recommend to anyone considering cutting the cord or dropping higher priced streaming services.

"When I was a kid, my parents had an antenna on the roof. There was a dial in the house that would turn the antenna to get specific channels. The whole setup was like science fiction but real. Now, 50 years later, I installed this antenna for them in a second-floor window, and it works better than that whole system. They had decided to get rid of their dish TV when TWO of the major networks were dropped. This new antenna gets more than 60 channels, crystal clear, almost all of the time, FOR FREE. I just stuck it in the window, ran a cable around the room to a TV, ran the auto channel finder on the TV, and it just works. I have no frame of reference about whether another similar product will be better or worse, but this one works surprisingly well. Two notes: I also bought a coax splitter and sent the second half INTO the cable outlet in that room, which then carries the signal to every other cable outlet in the house; and the signal isn't foolproof - on some channels it has gone pixelated during a storm or for no apparent reason at all."

I had some sort of cable TV since the 1970s. I switched recently to satellite TV, but the provider won't carry CBS / KIRO (Seattle area). So, I bought this antenna and KIRO comes in with a very clear picture along with nearly 100 other channels. It can hang neatly on a wall rather than being glued to a nearby window, too.

I have had Cox cable for an embarrassing number of years. Decided to "cut the cord" and bought this antenna for the local channels. Very easy to set up. Played with a few locations for the antenna but ended up putting it around the corner from the TV above a closet (see picture). The cord is a bit unsightly (may try to do something with it in the future to make it less noticeable), but I get the most channels (over 70) with this placement. Crystal clear picture - couldn't be happier!
