I should have paid heed to the reviews before purchase. My need was for wood veneer edge banding. I realized immediately that the unit would have simply broken in two had I applied adequate pressure to cut even the thinnest birch wood edge banding I use (~.5mm/.02").Further, the design allows for binding of the bypass blades which feels like a design flaw.Engineering note: A higher angle between the blades would reduce the pressure required by the relatively flimsy plastic design. This was a complete fail for me but may be useful for a patient person cutting only the thinnest tapes or edge banding.

I had to keep resetting the blades after every cut otherwise it would leave the edge long. Blades do not stay tight and move after every cut. It was faster to just use a flat razor blade to cut the end by turning the edge flat dow on the table and using the vertical edge to push the blade dow and make the cut. I DO NOT recommend this. It cheap for a reason.

Finally used this for the first time. It won’t cut peel and stick edge banding. Made with too soft of a plastic. Lever just pops out of main body when trying to use. What a disappointment. Too late to get a refund.

Cheap plastic product that is B not strong enough to consistently cut maple edge banding. May be fine for melamine but nothing else !

I do a significant amount of edge banding and had seen this on a youtube video as a suggested item to have to make the end trim quicker and easier...... It worked exactly for two trims... the first, was ragged as the blade was not aligned with the cutter blade... ok.. adjust that - easy enough... cut number 2... the plunger handle broke out of the unit..... I give it a one star since you cannot give a zero... so my one star is that it is a very nice shade of blue... that's about as good as it gets..... dumpster filler now.

Once you get the hang of this tool it works well to give you square edge for edge-banding. We even made it work for laminate strips on top of backsplashes. It cuts more than 1" wide, but, not much more than that
