Please consider my advise: throw away the written instructions that come with this BUT first scan the video code. I studied the instructions over and over and could not figure out with the first picture for sure. Looked at video and it all made sense instantly. I am one month shy of 74 and after watching the instruction video I was able to put both sides together in 10 minutes each. You can use each side individually or joined. I joined mine for the storm door outside the patio sliding doors. The length is perfect for me. It is very stable and I feel totally safe on it. Just remember to save yourself time and frustration, WATCH THE VIDEO!

All wood construction, very intelligently designed and kind of beautiful. Integrated perfectly into my small Japanese Zen garden as a step into the house. Very stable, can be slippery when wet though, but the height perfectly splits the difference between the house and the garden level.

This is super easy to put together seems sturdy and I love that you have the option of making one wide step or two smaller ones. I’m using half of it for one step. It’s not slippery when it gets wet so that is a definite plus. I don’t get ice here so can’t speak to that. I eventually plan to use the other half as a second step once I actually can dig up and level the area but that’s a future me plan

I wanted to like this and use this so much, but not even my elderly mother wanted to get on this. I had originally purchased this because my mother had a recent fall. When my mother, a past-retirement 5-foot tall lady, stepped on it, the step creaked under her 140-lbs weight and was unstable to stand on. It didn't help that the step slid a bit on hardwood - making this a concern for elders. The product images showcased a child, and I can see why this product would be good for one - but it wouldn't be good for older folks who live in smooth floor buildings. Not only that, it is hard to transport because elders have reduced muscles - it is light weight enough to slide, but too heavy for her to carry. Building it was a struggle as well, because the pieces would fall off so it is not advised to build this alone.

Seems like it will be sturdy. The first one was a pain. Middle pieces keep falling out. I'm gluing the first 4 pieces of the 2nd box before moving on. First time, putting on the end pieces made middle ones fall out, put back, try again, repeat, the two middle pieces kept falling out. After the glue dries, I think it will be easier to put end pieces and top on.

I bought this because our beach home has anti-flood, unusually high counters- and I am 5'2". I wanted a small platform-like step to put in front of the stove and sink to save my shoulders. This comes out of the box both looking and smelling like the Lincoln Logs of my childhood. I read the directions first, twice, and chuckled at some of the translations, and then dove in. Let me say- I have built A LOT of Ikea furniture in my time, some of which took 2-3 HOURS to assemble. This was a PIECE OF CAKE to put together! Look at the pictures, follow carefully, and you'll be fine.It is the perfect height, looks great, and I'm considering ordering another for home.

Needed a quick and easy way to help my husband manage the step down from our deck. This was so affordable and simple to assemble with a little patience and no fancy tools! It’s holding up very well too.

When I got the very heavy large box I was so excited to put the steps (I got two of them) down at the sunken family room. It is a pretty big step in one go for people who don't have mobility issues like my husband. I opened the first box to find what it shown in the picture. A Chinese jigsaw puzzle. I love puzzles, but didn't know I was getting one. I thought I was ordering a pre-assembled step to put out on the floor. We are moving and who has time to put a jigsaw puzzle together?! I found an out of the way place to store the unopened box and the pile of pieces, where they are sitting still. (I was busy moving in so didn't try to send them back.) I'm stuck with them now so I thought I'd share with all people considering buying these that THEY MUST BE ASSEMBLED!!!! If I ever get them assembled, and we use them, and we like them, I will change my review. The wood looks nice and solid. Someday I hope to have the time and inclination to put them together. (How long does it take?? I have no idea.)Update to review: There are 8 wooden pieces, which go together in TWO minutes. There are almost 60 wooden pegs, 32 of which are used, taking TEN minutes. (My only concern is WHY do we need so many extra? Are they going to end up wriggling out of the holes and we need to replace the pegs?) Putting the anti-skid rubber pieces on the finished step took TEN minutes and dexterity my arthritic fingers and thumbs were screaming at me about. The instructions suggested screwing the two steps together if using more than one, and I felt as if I needed Go Go Gadget arms to get the nuts and bolts connected, but I finally did. They seem sturdy. The height is perfect for our needs. We just have to get used to them being there, now. I am only giving four stars because, #1, they require assembly!, and #2, why do we need so many extra pegs??? Stay tuned.(Yes, they are being used on a concrete floor. We just moved in and the first thing we did was pull up disgusting carpeting. Not sure when our budget will allow a new LVP so we're pretending we are a modern loft with a concrete floor.)UPDATE: Since I am ordering another set I decided I should give them a five star review. The pegs have not become loose or dislodged in any way. We have an extra wide step into our family room and we like them so well we are ordering another set so the step is as wide as the opening. We put the non-skid rubber pieces on and they do, in fact, not skid. They are easy to put together. Don't be like me and overwhelmed when you first see the pieces of wood instead of a step.
