Since there was no way to look inside the book before purchasing, I went by the title. It says, Winding Instead of Knitting for the Addi Express Knitting Machine. When the book arrived, I browsed through it and realized every pattern calls for knitting needles. You start the project on the machine but then you need knitting needles or crochet hooks to finish the project. I had just purchased the machine, and had already made a beanie on it, so I naively thought the patterns were exclusively for the knitting machine. Since I don't knit (I do crochet), I returned the book and will search for other publications that I can view the inside of before purchasing. AS FOR THE QUALITY OF THE BOOK, its very well put together, easy to understand and has full color photos of the projects. My 4 stars are for the deceptive title, quality would get 5 stars.

I think that they did not make a book big enough for the money. They’re not enough patterns in the book for that kind of money. That’s too much money for that little bitty patterns. here I am thinking I’m gonna have some stuff to keep me busy for a while. Nope wrong.

I have never written a negative review. This is a horrible book. Do not buy it unless u want to throw 40 bucks away. There is not one single pattern I want to make as the really good ones will fit only a narrow range of body shapes. Lest you think I am just a grouchy person let me assure you that I am a 35 year experienced knitter and user of addi express for a short time. This is just plain bad.Aside from bad curation of patterns I believe that the translations are poor in many cases — from German? Add to that the use of different knitting terms and the reader is left just plain confused.Such a disappointment. I’m sending it back. Thank goodness I bought it from Amazon.

This book has a lot of patterns for the Addi express. I have not made any yet but they look nice. I really like the Addi and have both the large and small. this book has complicated patterns in some ways and mostly ones that use the stright knitting on the add instead of the circular knitting which can be daunting.
