Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. Used for making grooves in melanine. Cut very clean, no biting/kicking. will use this brand again.

I buy Whiteside because I already have learned there is no substitute for quality. I used to do fine woodworking by profession, so can easily tell the quality difference and have tried them all. A couple stand out freud and Whiteside and I don't hesitate either way. They both make beautiful cuts for a longer time soft and hardwood. These two bits however were for one purpose. I am building a bathroom vanity and decided to use melamine as it is an industry standard for bathroom & Kitchen cabinets, but also bulletproof in terms of finish and abuse. I bought these because they were a hint larger that standard sizes and needed them for dados. Well, they were too sloppy so I Am just making two cuts with my regular bits. But I am keeping them because you never have too many bits...

I own many router bits from a number of manufacturer and I have to admit that all those made by Whiteside come out on top in terms of quality of build and cutting results. I would highly recommend any bit made by them.

This is the ideal bit for dados in 3/4 melamine board.when you purchase melamine e there is no thickness on board. I had use micrometer to find thickness. Couldn't find other brands in this size...good luck
