5/32" (Dia.) Double Flute Straight Bit
From the Manufacturer
These bits cut smoother than other straight bits because of the precise shear and hook angles. End of bit relief allows for fast plunging. Covered by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.

yes, it is a 5/32 on a 1/4" shaft. I didn't get more than a foot or two in pine and it snapped. the yonico has done much better. I always trusted freud/diablo. A ryobi trim router in soft pine cutting .160" deep and it snaps? how gentle do I have to be with these things? What affects router bits? feed speed, amount of chip build up, depth of cut, material etc... but how fragile are these things?

I bought this to cut narrow dados and rabbets on my CNC router for a cabinet full of shelves. There were 70+ cuts to make in plywood, each taking 2 passes to get the width perfect. The bit performed flawlessly through them all, and still seems to be pretty sharp. Quite pleased with the results.

I am a member of The San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association Toymaking Program. We had to cut grooves in mahogany and Baltic birch plywood for a truck we were making. The bit cut very clean and held up better than expected. Would definitely buy it again.

I have had no issues with any of Freud's products. All have worked well and have performed to my expectations. This was no exception. Cuts cleanly and evenly.

Quarter-inch shank bits can sometimes produce a bit more chatter than half-inch shank bits, especially under stress, but the Freud bit performed extremely well, producing clean-walled and accurately sized grooves. I was also impressed with the Freud's ability to hold an edge. Plywood can be tough on bits, and the Freud held up throughout the entire project.
