With a jointed mouthpiece and long shanks, a tom thumb bit is a leverage bit that applies pressure to the poll, bars, tongue, and roof of a horse's mouth. This training bit can be an effective training tool in the right hands.

I ride a 20 year old Andalusian/Mustang cross stallion that I've had for 18 years. We know each other well and I have never needed more than a snaffle with him. I ride in a rubber snaffle when we're just hacking out around the house or with friends.Out on long trail rides in the mountains or back country horse camping, I use a copper snaffle. It keeps his mouth moist and he likes the taste. This one fits him properly and has zero rough spots on the mouth piece - even after several months of regular use each week, it's in excellent shape.

This is a rubber bit which can be used for a horse who has had bad previous experiences with bits. It helped my 4 y o be able to trust removing and putting in her bit the current way. Thank you so much

I absolutely love what a copper snaffle has done for my horse. She does not like heavily weighted bits and has a smaller mouth for a warmblood. I purchased the 5.5inch bit and it works perfectly. She likes to tense up in the jaw and the copper has really helped her to relax and play with it more. She is not a green horse but I do like to keep our equipment simple as it gets the job done just as well as with a more advanced bit.

This bit is nice and solid. I like that it can’t pinch and that it came in different sizes. It did need a little oil (I used coconut) to stop squeaking but other than that it was great.

Rubber was of really bad quality, dried out and flaking

The hackamore is well constructed and just what I was looking for. However, the headstall/chinstrap attachment port is really small made it difficult to get both attached.

This is one of the cheapest bits that I have ever purchased and it is my horses favorite! He never complains when I'm using this bit. Great quality!

Description says 6" mouth. When I received it and went to put it on our Belgian's bridle, it is labeled 6 1/2". Measured and it is a 6 1/2". Will see how much too big it is.

Bought this after my driving instructor recommended a jointed, or broken, snaffle bit for my Welsh driving mare. She is very responsive in the mouth, so we didn't want to lose that softness while doing ground work.I searched for a copper mouth bit because I've always found it great for getting the young horses to take to the bit. It is also great for persnickety pony mares that have had too long of a vacation from work. This was only used for a short time, but the investment was worth it to me. I was back in my cart in no time with a very happy pony.Weaver products have NEVER disappointed me.
