The GoPro wide lens attachment is not a close focusing lens. The way wide angle domes work is that the camera's lens actually focuses on the curved dome lens for the housing, thus becoming basically the front lens element. The GoPro can focus on the small dome underwater so underwater photos are soft not sharp. It can go deep and in the air it can shoot through the small dome and be sharp. But underwater it doesn't work. It needs a bigger dome farther from the GP lens element. Great for muddy rides and other rough work that could scratch a lens element. It works in the air. Useless underwater from 1 to 40M although split shots kind of work.
