Made of durable acrylic, the Find-Me Signal Mirror is virtually indestructible. In addition to emergency signaling, it's handy for personal grooming as well. The waterproof Hear-Me Whistle emits a shrieking, high-pitched sound and has a pea-less design for all-weather use.
The mirror measures 4.5 x 2.75 x 0.1 inches and weighs 0.6 ounces, the whistle measures 2.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 inches and weighs 0.3 ounces, and the float measures 2.3 x 1.3 x 0.25 inches and weighs 0.1 ounces. It's backed by a two-year manufacturer.

It's a small, light package that is easy to carry. The whistle is surprisingly loud and it does float. I filled the tub and dropped it in.

The whistle is loud, the mirror shiny, and the floaty thing, well, floaty. I picked up a couple of these to go into kits. Components seem well made. I'll have to devise a case for the mirror as it didn't come with a protective case, but certainly not a deal breaker.

For the price point it does what it's meant to do. I can't say if it's really effective because I haven't had the need to be rescued, but for its weight I will definitely have it on me all the time. It's very very light.Simply put if you don't have one and don't want to spend much $ this will do the trick. You wont be using this as mirror to shave with but if you need to shine some light on a plane this will work. Great item for your 'essential' gear for backpacking, light enough for EDC if you must.

I don't know how fancy this item needs to be. This seems like a couple dollars well spent. Two things I did...I drilled a hole in the center to use as a point sight and I left the packaging film on it until I I need it to save my life (so the reflective surface remains undamaged) As for the whistle, it ok. I'll test the floater when I can and let you if it keeps it all within reach.

No question, what I received was worth what I paid. The whistle is quite loud. Both the whistle and float are "safety" orange and appear to be pretty durable. The mirror is slightly damaged around the edges, but it is flat and I believe would reflect adequately for signaling. It is certainly fine for a little in-camp grooming. In summary, not the greatest bit of kit, but worth the price, and good enough to keep in my "go" bag.
