I am a master electrician. I've installed under cabinet lights for decades, but for the past several years they've almost all been led tape strips. However a recent job required that I use the existing 120v wiring for under the cabinet, so I purchased some Halo brand lights from my local supplier. But my supplier didn't carry the 12" fixture, which I didn't realize I needed until the others were installed. So I bought these torchstar fixtures from Amazon, having had good experiences with different torchstar lights in the past. This fixture goes together very much like the Halo fixtures, and the light it casts is identical. Nobody will ever know I mixed fixture brands. I actually like the junction box area better with this one than the other. Wish I would have known about these before I bought the others.

Configuration is very flexible to fit under my different width cabinets.. I ended up with 4 12" and 3 8" units in one daisy-chained string that I hardwired to a single existing wall switch - some connected by the supplied jumper cable and others by the supplied small-connector plug. I used the supplied wall plug-in cable to install the remaining 8" in my workshop. The light quality is bright and great. Glad I happened upon this brand.

My husband and I got these lights to put in while we were remodeling our kitchen. We wanted the lights to be hardwired in. Installing the lights was somewhat straightforward but the included screws to mount them up underneath the cabinets were too long so we had to find shorter screws so that they would not puncture through the bottom of our cabinets. Also there is not much room to work with when your hard-wiring the wires. You cannot have much wire left or it will not fit in the Box even having the minimum amount of wire is hard to get into the box.The lights are all interconnected with the included jumper cables. We got two 8-in lights and 6 12-in lights. When using the cables in between the lights we had to connect two together when we were doing the inner corner cabinet, so keep that in mind. One cable was not long enough to reach diagonally for the light that we put underneath the inner corner cabinet.I also have noticed flickering of the lights since we installed them a couple months ago. The flickering actually started soon after they were installed, if we have the brightness turned all the way up with the dimmer switch (not included). They do still occasionally flicker even when we have them on other settings but more so if they're turned all the way up. I don't know if this is a dimmer switch issue or the lights themselves. The light modes/color (warm/cool) work well and the brightness is good. The make working at the counter much nicer with the light. I also like to leave the lights on the lowest brightness in the evening so that there's a little bit of light in the kitchen when I go in; instead of, it being completely dark.

I had installed wired under-cabinet lighting at our previous house, so I kind of knew what I was getting myself into with this light set. Here are some features I appreciated:*Push-in wire splice blocks included with each block for attaching power*Includes the proper screw clamps for strain-relief*Option to mount using "screw through" then use cover plugs instead of those difficult hidden screw approaches (hanging the light on screw heads)*Linking plugs included for continuous lighting effect under the cabinet*Vendor sells different sizes, so we can customize the size of our linked set.*Three options for the light's "color temperature", which is great, because we can select our preference based upon what looks good with our countertops and decor. We ultimately have selected the most "warm" setting (though my 8-year old really enjoys flipping them over to the more blue/white color). The diffuser does a great job at mulling the effect of any point source, and the light gives good spread. We decided to mount the lights at the center of the cabinet (about 10 cm from the wall) to give the right balance of light on the wall and light on the counter. We use a dimmer switch with our lights, which work perfectly. The only thing that surprised me is how warm the bottom of the cabinet above gets due to the mounted light... I had supposed that the low wattage LED lights would put out much less heat, but I suppose the built-in transformer is to blame.
