My flamingo didn't end up looking like the kit -- I have a long way to go. It turned out cute though.

This kit includes everything you need to make the flamingo pictured, I'm not sure if it is a beginner kit... maybe beginner to moderate! I've done a little bit of needle felting before, but not a ton. I was able to follow the instructions well enough to keep up but blending the two colors might be a bit tricky for a first timer.This kept me busy for a day and came out pretty cute! Took a while but in the end it paid off. I recommend this if you have some patience and be very careful about protecting your fingers!

I think, sadly, felting is not for me. The instructions are clear (though I wish the photos on the instructions were not taken with flash because the extra shadowing looks bad on already small photos) and the tools seem to be nice, but I cannot for the life of me get this flamingo to look right. Granted I think all the repetitive stabbing was too much for my shoulder and I didn't felt enough, but that is a me problem, not a problem of the kit. I do think it could do a better job explaining the felting process, I had to watch a video on how to actually felt, but the assembly of the flamingo is well explained.Be sure to wear the really decent finger protectors that are included because those needles are SHARP and will hunt down flesh no matter how careful you are. Maybe for my first attempt I should have gone for something a little easier, I am not sure I would call it beginner friendly, but maybe I am just really bad at it!
