This works exactly as intended except that every once in awhile it says there's no stud at all. So I reset and do it again and we're good to go. Likely user error, even though I know how to use it and do the same steps each time so who knows why it sometimes doesn't register. I would buy it again.

For me, it does a wonderful job identifying wooden studs in the walls in my house. I have tried it several times for locating energized wires in the walls after calibrating it 6 ft. away from the walls and I am disappointed with its performance it does register that there is a a live wire nearby, but for up to a couple feet away from the location of the wire. I have tried it in three different locations in the house where I know the wire runs up or down the wall, but I can't get a precise location with this finder. I will keep it for finding studs as I have found it to be the easiest, most comfortable to use of the three or four stud finders that I have used for finding studs. I am 70+ yrs. old and I find the display easy to read and the instrument easy to hold while using.

It easily got confused with the electricity. Other functions worked better.

This stud finder was great. I needed to be right on the money while installing something into a wall and the stud finder was right on. Value for the money is exceptional. Very happy with this purchase.

Worked fine the first time I turned it on. Tested for a few minutes then turned it off. Turned it on for the SECOND time ever when I went to go mount my TV and the thing wasn’t calibrating. Then it started giving me inaccurate readings which was a risk to me mounting my TV. After trying to calibrate it some more the calibration button actually broke rendering it console telly useless. This was my second time ever turning it on. Piece of plastic junk. This is also my first time ever writing a review for a product that’s how annoyed I am. Buyers beware.
