The product was fine of heavy metal. Amazon put this really heavy box in a much bigger flimsy box. It was delivered o. My doorstep withe the outer box wrapped around it like a loose blanket. The outer box completely destroyed. The inner box had been ripped open also but the contents were so tightly packaged that they stayed inside. There doesn't seem to be any damage to the metal. The product looks like it will do the job as intended around my garden bed.

Great “bite” into the ground. I have a lot of confidence it’s not going to wriggle up.

This is heavy and strong edging that comes with the rusted look. This is well made. So, I'm sure it will last a good long while. I'm using it to hold rocks and mulch in a small area at my home.

Just hammer in the spiked end and this will prevent any stones, dirt or other ground material from wandering. Recommended for ease of install.

This is substantial, thick metal edging which will hold your ground. If you are blessed with loamy, or loose soil, you might be able to hammer this in with a mini sledge or a mallet. If, like me, you are working with rock enriched hardpan clay, you may want to cut a trench with a straight edge spade or edging tool. Fortunately, this edging is 8 inches, so you can go below the level of most wandering grass roots and still have enough above ground to keep your mulch in place. Unlike cheaper plastic edging, the pre-rusted Solution4Patio edging won't heave out of the ground if you are subject to frequent freeze/thaw cycles. The gauge on this edging is heavy enough to hold its shape, but thin enough to bend to gradual curves. Once installed, it will stay where you put it, and, since it is already rusted, no need for repainting ever.

In true Amazon packaging, this edging comes in a gigantic cardboard box large enough to fit a small human being. Perhaps because this edging is so heavy, you will indeed wonder whether you have unwittingly stumbled upon a scene out of Dateline. You might worry that Keith Morrison is hiding in the bushes ready to ambush you with a microphone in your face. Rest assured, though, it is more likely to be Josh Manciewicz, the lesser known, but up-and-coming true crime reporter. Keith Morrison generally only does interviews in the studio. In reality, the ACTUAL product box is quite modest in size. But I'm not lying when i say this edging is heavy and heavy duty. It is terrifically solid. The edging is easy to install and can curve mildly well. Don't expect to do curliecue designs if that is your garden jam. The spikes are quite sharp, so don't be cavalier about dropping it on your foot. We don't want you to leave a trail of blood anywhere. If you do, you may invite more scrutiny from Mr. Morrison or Mr. Mankiewicz. Don't say I didn't warn you.

The Solution4 Steel Landscape Edging is a suitably thick edging. The seller describes it as having a “beautiful brown patina finish”; that finish is also known as “rusted”. It’s perfect for my rural, wooded property. (But those who prefer sleek, shiny and freshly painted surfaces, probably won’t like it.)The Amazon product page claims the edging is Corten steel. I doubt it. Cor-Ten Steel is trademarked by U.S.Steel for 3 things—the alloy, the process, and the name, and both “Cor-ten” and “Corten” are included in the trademark. The U.S.Steel site says "If somebody tells you that they are supplying you COR-TEN, they are almost certainly unaware of their own product.”I found the product measurements confusing. The actual size for the 8” that I ordered is 3” spikes, with 5” above-ground edging (not 4” and 4” as described).Installation was not quite as simple as the demo on the product page made it seem, but it wasn’t difficult. A couple of warnings:-brute force doesn’t work; slow and gentle does, especially with the long spikes (they bend out of shape and are not easy to unbend)-if there are stones in your soil, ignore that “no-dig effortless installation” feature. I have stones, and had to dig the larger ones out. For the smaller, underground ones, I created a shovel line to slip the edging into, and used a pry bar to move the rocks out of the way.Putting a gentle bend into the edging is simple, but take it slow, a little at a time. Advice akin to “measure twice; cut once.” It’s easier to do it right in the first place. There were gloves included, but I was using my work gloves before I noticed them, and didn’t bother changing. They aren’t a great quality, but I imagine they will last through the edging installation and keep your hands off of the squared edges.I would not use the edging around a vegetable or herb bed. It contains a substantial amount of lead. The lead test I use doesn’t specify number ranges, but this metal went off the top of the indicator chart. I am using it along a walkway next to a ornamental bed.The edging is manufactured in CHINA.
