This arrived wrapped in plastic inside of a cardboard box. It was in perfect shape and the top pull part was not attached when it arrived - it snapped right in and is securely fastened but you would also have the option to not use it if you prefer. It didn't come with anything else so I had to guess on washing instructions. Since it's designed to go into a pot of boiling water I figured it was dishwasher safe and after a round on high heat on the top rack of the dishwasher, it came out fine - no warping or melting.I saw somewhere in the listing that this says it weighs 1 lb but it absolutely does not. I didn't weigh it but it's very light. Still, it feels very sturdy and I didn't worry about it tipping. Once it was full of eggs it didn't float up in the water at all.I found that when putting eggs into the holder you do have to sort of squeeze them in but I didn't have any issues with eggs breaking. They feel very secure when they are inside of the holder and they don't feel overly fragile when removing them from it, either.Overall this is a cute little tool that makes my life that teensy bit easier by keeping my eggs collected together to remove them in one step when boiling. It really isn't necessary at all, but I'd still recommend it.

I make a lot of hard-boiled eggs and almost every time a few eggs knock together or float into the side of the pot and crack. This egg boiler device eliminates that problem, and I’m wondering why I’m only now finding out this thing exists. Its cute design allows for easy insertion and removal of the eggs, and the handle is removable. I boil my eggs in a 3 QT pot, and the handle is too tall to use with the lid on the pot. Fortunately, the handle just inserts into a slot and is tightened with a small twist, so you can take it off once the eggs are inserted into the pot and then put it right back on to take the eggs out when they’re done cooking. Not a single egg was broken, and it was quicker to plunge them into cold water all at once than scooping them out with a slotted spoon. Overall, I am thrilled with this egg holder and recommend it for anyone who doesn’t have one already.
