Superb knife ! Terrific value ! BEST handling knife of its size. I prefer to use it instead of my Zwilling or Mercer utility knives. Be careful- it can shave hair off your arm. My favorite utility knife.

While a tiny bit oversized for a utility knife, at the price, it is a great value. Great for all food prep (slicing and dicing) as well as for a steak knife. Also very good looking.

These Japanese knives are excellent in both quality and price. They are for anyone that wants to try Japanese kitchen knives and sway away from traditional European kitchen knives. The spine is definitely thinner than my non-Japanese knives and sharper and makes cutting and slicing a dream.Sharpness and comfortability are 4.5 stars out of five. I only deducted 1/2 star due to the quality control. The utility knife (top) shows the knife spine being dropped/slanted compared to the other (bottom). I'm surprised it wasn't caught in the QC control since they are made in Japan.A must try in Japanese knives that won't break the bank.

This knife was razor sharp right out of the box. It appears to be finished well. No sharp edges on the handle or bolster. It's well balanced. It has a slight 'belly' and rounded corner at the tip so it's easy to rock chop. The knife is made in Japan. Nice knife for the money!

Pretty good and gets the job done. The steel isn't rusting after leaving it on a wet towel for a few days and the edge is good out of the box. Went right through a whole chicken. Seki steel is amazing stuff and learned that from a set of green bell toe nail clippers that maintained edge for a few years now even if they were used to cut things like shoelaces with dirt in them etc

I’m a profesional chef. I have owned dozens and dozens of knives. Anything from cheap stamped dexter knives, to high end expensive hand forged yoshihiro and shun knives. Out of the box I was VERY impressed with the quality. I will admit there are minor flaws. But they are just that, minor (slight imperfection in the handle). Over all for the price it’s definitely worth it. It’s my new favorite prep knife. I have read some reviews here that say that the edge doesn’t last long, it really depends on how you use it. And no matter how expensive the knife is ALL KNIVES WILL LOOSE THEIR EDGE. That’s just a fact. So invest in a good quality honing steel (preferably ceramic) and a good quality whetstone, and this knife will be one of your favorites! And remember, a good knife doesn’t mean good knife skills.
