The package came in well-marked, sporting a smiley face and an indicator for where to open it from. When I opened it, the seller had used a second box to keep the neck in place to avoid it bumping around in transit. The guitar came with exactly 3 batteries, a strap, and even had the strap peg unscrewed just in case I was left-handed. Guitar is nearly spotless, and works perfectly, as expected. Seller went above and beyond, 5 stars.

the first guitar i received the strum bar was broken so i sent it back. The next one i got the start button and strum both needed for me to press on them really hard to get them to work and so i returned it once again. On my third guitar the strum bar is better but still doesn't always work right and the start button still is bad also. the Rockband 2 version has way less problems is cheaper and the rb3 one has no improvement over the rb2 one

The controller feels and plays like the same basic controller that I've used since I started playing Band Hero around Christmas of 2009. It strums the same way, and the notes are contolled using the same finger buttons.Compared to the Band Hero version, this one has a few differences that I believe are standard to Rockband, like the smaller "solo buttons" at the base of the neck that seem like they'd be easier to play once you're used to them. I do like them and am trying to get used to them. One problem is the lack of a power up button built in. You can tilt it to power up, and you can plug in a foot pedal (any PTT button that produces an open circuit when touched will work, I've already made a few of my own for my Wii guitars without much trouble), but there is no button you can press directly. It's really hard to do a fair review for a purchase of the "base" controller for a game you've been playing for well over a year. To be honest, if the Keyboard controller for Rockband would allow you to both complete and open up the guitar and bass challenges for the game (including upstrum and HOPO's), I wouldn't have bought this. For general playing the keyboard is a lot more fun for me to use, and honestly is a lot easier to play. But that wouldn't be a fair point to review this product on. Nor would I have purchased it if the Wii version of the game wasn't fraught with errors and inferiorities that made us decide to switch to the XBox 360.In the end, it does what it's supposed to do, and that's what really matters. If you play Rockband, you need one, and this one is fine.

I got one of these thinking it would be the same as a RB2 strat. From what I could tell this guitar controller is like a cheap copy of the RB2 one. I don't know if mine was defective or they are all made like this but the strum bar was horrible. It was very loose and didn't spring back up hardly at all when playing with down strums. So unless you want to up/down every note, it will not work. Even up/down strum still didn't seem like it was working properly every time. I sent my back to amazon for a refund.

The whole rockband 3 game is amazing, cool and fun. The guitar is my favourite instrument on rockband 3, but the drum kit (pro) isn't far behind.I would seriously recomend to anyone who loves music (especially rock and old pop) and families.:)

I ordered the Rock Band 3 Fender Stratocaster because all of my other guitars were wired, so I thought it was time to trade up. Surprisingly the Rock Band 3 Stratocaster is just a carbon copy of the Rock Band 2 Stratocaster. This guitar is head and shoulders above the original Rock Band Stratocaster which was a piece of garbage.Pros--The fret buttons are faster and quieter.-The headstock is removable.-It feels more durable than the original Rock Band Stratocaster.Cons--The start button can be difficult to use. It only seems to work when it feels like it.-The tilt sensor makes a lot of noise when you move the slightest bit.-The Xbox 360 version of this guitar only comes in black and white, so it doesn't really stand out from the original Rock Band Stratocaster. At the end of the day, this is a solid guitar. I still prefer the Gibson Xplorer because of its fast frets, but this guitar definitely gets the job done. I really wish they offered it in different colors than just black for the Xbox 360 version, and I really wish the start button would work when I wanted it to.
