I bought these mats to play DDR but they are nearly unusable. The bottom is very grippy which is good because the mat doesn't slide but the top layer of the pad isn't fixed to the bottom layer (except for the edges). When stepping even remotely quickly, the top layer slides on the bottom layer causing the entire pad to crumple and several of the built in buttons get pressed. You're better off buying a better quality pad if you actually intend on using them.

Slippy as hell. Also was not very sensitive. Got a refund. Definitely useless for me. Don’t buy it if you’re a mediumcore/hardcore DDR player.

I absolutely love DDR and this Matt is amazing. I was expecting it to move around alot which it does but with a little velcro and a place to put it. It's hopefully going to stay in place. I have tested the mat on my game and so far it does a wonderful job. I just need to get that velcro down. Thank you so very much for this wonderful purchase. I highly recommend this mat.

Love it. I'm a newbie to DDR and am using it as my winter workout until the weather is nice enough for outdoor exercise. I've used it on carpet and tile at the beginner and basic levels. I can see how a "power user" might find issue with the pad, but as a mere mortal I find that the pad works just fine. We've purchased two, so we can have dance offs at our nerdy grownup dinner parties. Good times. I recommend.

It didn't come with the disc needed to make it work - very disappointed little granddaughter. If you can tell me where to get the disc then I'd be happy.

These pads work well. They require a little work to stick to the floor. I am an extreme player meaning I go to the hardest difficulties when I play and nothing is more embarrassing than showing your friends your DDR skills and having the mat slip from underneath you. So... . I invested in some tape and have both DDR mats taped to the ground so that I can get my game on without purchasing a metal professional pad.First simply mop, sweep, remove your floor of any dirt or crud. Then, tape around all four edges until you have a solid and firm DDR area.I would personally use duct tape, but I have also used electrical tape and masking tape. Duct tape has done the best so far. I once cut hole into a carpet just so I could continue to play DDR and also because tape does not stick to carpet. I know from experience.

Here's the thing with soft pads. You HAVE to mod them otherwise you're looking at a playing DDR on a $45+++ slip n slide. Especially if you're stuck with carpet. Go to the local DIY store and get a good piece of plywood cut to size (get sanded, the pressed particle board type will splinter and fray) and keep the extra pieces to mod the buttons later if you want or need to raise them a little. (I haven't had to so far)Prior to my cobalt flux investment (which I lost in a flood in 2014 otherwise I would still be using it) I have had the original konami dance mats and I had red octanes. This one is like the previous konami mats, thin material, but it is far more responsive now. With some frugal clearance bin shopping, I was able to mod this for $15 in materials. I used a smooth bottom carpet runner remnant on the top to protect the pad -the tape down the middle is due to the width of the runner only being 2ft, not a defect in the konami pad- a piece of 4x4 sanded 3/4in plywood (I had HD cut it to 3x3 and kept the other pieces to raise the buttons if I need to, so far I haven't had to) and a 2x2 square of remnant carpet runner with the sharp little nubby things. 1 roll of black gorilla tape and I had some leftover orange duct tape from another project. If you can rummage the discount scratch n dent bin, often usable pieces of plywood are cut off from the big pieces and priced at a huge discount because of some nicks or odd sizes.Anyway back to the pad, now it is super responsive and doesn't move on the carpet at all. Just get the carpet runner super snug if you use it, because if it's not, it will bunch and any creases will cause the buttons to react and mess up your scores. I'm a moderate player, I'm by no means 7 footer heavy backwards invisible complex like crazy player so the pad may respond differently for those level players. I'm a standard mode, x2 speed, 4-6 footer type player and use this for cardio 3-4x a week
