Raw copper is drawn to meet specific size requirements based on the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA) standards. This magnet wire meets the NEMA MW-79-C standard for operating temperature (155°C/311°F) and insulation makeup. The insulation is made from modified Polyurethane, and protects the coiled wire from short-circuiting.

I use Remington wire exclusively in my guitar pickup winding endeavors. It's remarkably consistent, despools easily and reliably, and (used correctly, of course) can make some excellent pickups. Shipping is always faster than promised, and packaging is in the 'airborne drop safe' range, ensuring undamaged wire.I've used pounds of 42AWG, 43AWG and 44AWG, and my experience is the same across those products. I really like this wire.
