Magnet wire is copper wire with a thin layer of insulation, and is used in a variety of applications including transformers, wound coils, motors, solenoids, and instruments. Raw copper is drawn to meet specific size requirements based on the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA) standards. This magnet wire meets the NEMA MW-79-C standard for operating temperature (155°C/311°F) and insulation makeup. The insulation is made from modified Polyurethane, and protects the coiled wire from short-circuiting.

I bought this to use for weight and for ribbing when tying flies. It works great for those purposes. Dense enough to sink the flies, flexible enough to wrap and build tapered bodies and even to use as a "tying thread" and all at a far lower cost than buying the same material on tiny spools.

Poor spooling technique from the factory makes this wire useless for long runs. The wire itself seems to be decent quality, but this is the second spool of Remington wire I've bought, and they were both knotted up and loosely wound, which made the entire spool unusable.

Good quality wire. Was able to utilize this to perform a Data Recovery on a USB Flash Drive with a broken connector.I very carefully scraped the traces leading to pads with a hobby knife, used a little flux, tinned the wire, and soldered the wire to the exposed traces. Then i soldered the other ends of the 36awg wire to the USB connector pins and presto. USB device detected and fat32 volume mounted.PRO TIP: When using this gauge for data recovery, ALL wires must be less that ~2 inches. Any longer and you will run into voltage drop and attenuation issues.

Used this to rewind the spark coils on a motorcycle stator. Works great! Doesn't break as easily as I thought it might and the enamel coating doesn't scrape off easily either.

I am using this wire for fly tying and it works great. Very cost efficient thin yet strong.

Not what I expected, but good for what it is. Here's what you should know;Despite its look, it is insulated (minimally, but insulated). I failed to read that before buying, so this didnt work for my task.It is VERY thin. Very flexible, but if you need to hold anything in place this won't really work. It needs to be a very specific reason for buying this that you should.I'm working with batteries and other electrical devices, and I can't get the wire to carry even a small current. If you need something for electrical projects, I do suggest something of a bigger gauge (most people recommend 24, again read this AFTER buying... my bad)All in all it is very good for what it is. If you have a need for small copper wire, this is gonna be a perfect option for you.

If you need some very small resin-coated copper wire, this is as good as any. Just be aware that 36AWG is quite small and you should only buy this small of wire if you have a specific application for it.

It is good for what its supposed to be but I didn't realize how thin it was. It can be torn easily with your hands
