Full disclosure: I have never used an actual throwing knife until I got these. I have thrown axes and plenty of actual knives in the backyard back in my younger days, but I thought these would be fun and a good jumping off point if I wanted to get a bit more serious.Essentially, I've been having fun with these. They seem to balance pretty well and I can grip them well enough to get the knack of getting them to stick and be accurate. If you want to get started for about $30 these are a good place to begin.Recommended. Give they a try and you'll likely have fun as well.

First of all, I am not a knife thrower. So, this is a novice review.I do like the knives. They are balanced and decently sharp. For that reason, I would be cautious of holding them by the blades. I tried it a bunch of times and it worked fine for me. I'd just be careful.They all weight the same and perform equally well. I'm not very proficient yet, but it's not because of the blades. I think they are good for what they are.My only critical observation is the case. I'm not convinced it will last a long time given how sharp the tips are. But, I could be wrong. I'm not docking my rating for it.I'd get these again. They're fun. And, I'm getting better.

It is easy to forget that we are not the center of the universe and other cultures and customs vary from place to place. The description may build an unrealistic expectation if you are from the Western part of the world. These are knives but different then you may have seen. The primary use is a non-lethal dart used for gaming and competition. This is not a self-defense weapon!!! You may have seen an action movie and a character uses knives that look like the REAT throwing knifes but that is just that movies. There are true martial art knives that are almost identical in look but they are the real thing and one mistake your cut. REAT throwing knife set is for gaming only. REAT uses 440 which is very hard giving the knife toughness but that is to prevent breaking not making a razor edge. These type of knives have no edge but are very pointed. PLEASE KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN – OF ALL AGES! Wear eye protection and think about bounce back. These are not cheap toy like martial arts weapons that kids all too often lose an eye or worse. The REAT throwing knife set is best viewed as a cross between darts and throwing knifes that use is for gaming. It is a great set and I have already had a ton of fun. I would recommend to any responsible adult.

Perfectly balanced and solid as hell. The holes are a nice addition for wrapping the pommel, which I did on one of the knives. Otherwise they fly best without the paracord. Very sharp edges, so not for those who prefer using the blade to launch.
