Very heavy, which probably helps learn. I ended up purchasing 3 sets Smith and Wesson throwing knives and I love them so far. Nothing wrong with it just more costly and heavier, but solid set of knives.

Would have given 5 stars if one of them hadn't broke within the first 30 throws, I have several other knives, all cheaper knives that have lasted literally thousands of throws, the balance and weight are excellent, was very happy with them initially, but very disappointed with the quality.

I love these knives. Came in two days. I painted them to cut back on noise. My son and I play tactics and tic-tax-toe. I plan on getting more of the hibbens. It is a wonderful thing

Overall very happy with the set. I’m a beginner throwing no-spin and I find these very easy to throw at short distances. Still trying to get the hang of them at distances over 12ft. Getting good sticks into a target built from cut 4x4s and also in 20” oak rounds. When I throw blade down they usually rotate to blade up (not spinning end over end- they rotate along the long axis). When I throw blade up I find they are even easier and perhaps more accurate. The blade stays up. The tips did break but because I missed the target and threw them into rocks and my wife’s artistic stone bench. Can’t blame the knife for that. Even with broken tips they stick no problem in wood though I don't recommend throwing them into stone.

These are the best throwing knives I've ever had. (And I've tried lots of them.) An excellent design, and made of tough steel that takes a good edge and doesn't break. (Just be really careful if you sharpen them up! -- not a recommended practice for newbies, as a sharp knife that bounces back at you can do a lot of damage, in my experience.) These knives are good for blade throws and handle throws. I'll probably wrap the handles with nylon paracord eventually; but they're great right out of the box.

Good balance, length and weight. The false edge on these blades make them dull, but with 400 grit whetstone and about an hour with an experienced sharpener the blades are sharp. The sharpened blades do dull quickly, sharpen after each use. A thrower is for multiple targets. Slice, thrust, throw, pull another. The blade will attempt to rotate in your hand if your slicing into a hard target during melee practice, hold tightly with the flat handle resting between finger knuckles and no problem. My wife learned quickly with these, and the weight helps her get more distance with lighter throwers. May get another set, depending on how the wear time goes.

Excellent. Very well designed. Very well made. Good quality steel. The only problem is that when throwing at stumps., or another wood with a grain, if the knife hits cross grain, it will often not stick because of its weight. Sometimes a perfectly thrown knife bounces off the target because it hit cross grain. But, I can throw either by the handle or by the blade. If the knife were sharper toward the tip of the blade, I wouldn't be able to throw by the blade --I'd get cut. If you like to grab the knife firmly and throw hard either by the handle or the blade, (depending on distance and circumstances), this knife seems to be about as good a pick as you will find. I like it so much that I already bought another set.

I have been throwing knives for a few months now and had bought 12 light weight 8" much cheaper knives. And I can tell you these are much better throwing knives, they are heavy, well balanced and are much either to control. My throwing has improved a lot since getting the Gil Hibben genX pro Thrower triple set, which I bought 2 sets. They are well worth the added expense if your serious about throwing knives.

These are my most used knives. East to throw, well balanced. The metal is a bit soft, but for the money an excellent throwing knife.

Right when I opened the box I was pleased! The blades are amazing, strong and beautiful. I've had them for about a day and I've fallen for these blades! I'm considering buying another set.PROS- perfect for no spin throws- well balanced- comfortable to gripCONS- it dings easily if it ricochets onto concrete floor. (But I'm sure that would happen with any blade)All in all I Love these throwers!!!
