The tubing is wildly flimsy and not at all sturdy. This basket will sway back and forth, then eventually bend. I do not recommend this product.

It's a great idea but could use some improvement.. the net at the top cannot be secured... it needs some all around connection in order to pull tie it right..

I have an outside water feature and falling leaves often clog the pump. I like this design in that the blocked debris is away from the pump and there is still clean water that is being pulled in by the pump. The pvc frame is very sturdy and the cinch top works well for the hose and electrical cord. A great feature for my water feature.

I like the fact that the mesh is long enough to wrap around the hose and cord and does a great job of keeping the leaves out.

I have six submersible pumps in use in three garden ponds and they eventually clog. I tried the hard plastic shoebox type filter and it clogs too quickly. Using just a filter bag, I find it collapses around the pump and so you do not get the full effect of easy water flow into the bag which is much larger than the pump. This allows easy waterflow but keeps floating vegetation out of the pump impeller. I am switching to this method with all six pumps over the next year or two.
