Product Description

NR400S RIVET NUT GUN
NOSE PIECE ASSEMBLE
TEST PULL

SPECIFICATION:

RIVET NUT 1/4-20, 5/16-18, 3/8-16
SPEED 400RPM
AIR FLOW 16.2CFM
NUT METARIAL STEEL, ALUMINUIM
AIR INLET 1/4 PT
AIR PRESSURE 65-110PSI

Pro Tip:

It is best to do some test pulls on scrap material in order to arrive at the optimal air pressure (torque) setting which gives the desired result. Start with a low air pressure setting and increase gradually, particularly when pulling aluminum inserts. When the air pressure is set too high you risk stripping the thread on the insert

Note:

1. During installation, for safety, be sure to turn off the air source first .

2. After installing the gun head, please test the air pressure and tools to be normal before starting the formal operation.

Safety User Guide:

In order to enable you to use this tool correctly and not to be harmed at work, please read the following items carefully and strictly implement them before use.

1. The maximum air pressure used cannot exceed 110PSI, or the maximum pressure required in the instructions.

2. Do not use the quick air inlet connector directly on the tool, please add a regulator to adjust the air pressure of the tool.

3. When not in use, changing tool accessories or performing maintenance, please turn off the air source and disconnect the tool from the air source connector.

4. When operating the tool, do not wear gloves, shin guards, or loose clothing, and keep a certain distance from the body and the tool.

5. Do not directly touch the rotating shaft to avoid injury to your hands or other parts of the body by tools. Wear gloves to protect your hands during operation.

6. Non-professionals cannot modify the tool structure by themselves, or replace parts from other manufacturers.

7. Do not leave excessively long gas lines in walkways or work areas, which could cause staff to trip and slip.

Maintenance and Repair Guide:

1. Use properly pressured air. Please use the gas with the pressure in the range of 65-100PSI or the pressure required in the manual. If the pressure is too low, the work efficiency of the tool will be significantly reduced or even not work properly. If the pressure is too high, although the working efficiency of the tool can be improved, it is easy to damage the internal parts and shorten the tool life.

2. Use filter. Moisture, dust, rust and other foreign matter in the compressed air are the main reasons for premature aging of tool parts, so it is necessary to add a filter to filter the foreign matter in the air and provide clean and dry gas for the tool.

3. Lubrication of tools. Drop 2~3 drops of lubricating oil into the air inlet before use. When working continuously for a long time, the middle should also be interrupted to replenish lubricating oil. Please use special oil for air tools or SAE#10. The use of thick oil is strictly prohibited.

Works perfect easy setup and quick release is amazing. Got my job done on time and customer was happy. I would buy another one of these.

I had 110 Crush nuts to install, it would install three of them and I would have to change the quarter inch bolt in the gun because it would score the threads, too hard to get replacement parts for it, not worth the money unless they had a better supply of parts.

I used this recently on a car I'm building. It worked great on the sheet metal I was using. one thing I noticed is it needs lots of air. Your not going to be able to run this well on a single stage small compressor. With a dual stage compressor and 1/2in line it works great. Just what I needed!

Going to return it. I wanted this to install a skid plate on my UTV that required numerous holes to be drilled and tapped. Sadly I couldn't use it. Thankfully I did a few practice holes on scrap. This would not mushroom on the backside on a 1/8 flat steel, stuck in the hole but you can't rely on that. IMO It does not have anywhere near the power it needs for 1/8. Tried all different air settings as suggested. Not sure that I like the rocker switch, I think as a DIY not using it everyday it should last. Ended up drilling and tapping the holes. When I find a better riv nut gun for a reasonable price I'll install the riv nuts.It did work very good on 1/16 flat steel. Seems to be built well, not sure how hard the mandrels are, you may need to have extra good ones on hand depending how much you have to do.

This tool make life so much easier. For years, I've used the Astro tool where you squeeze the handles in. You have to set the nosepiece depth correctly and squeeze the handles exactly the same amount to ensure an even and complete squeeze of the nut collar. With this tool, you set your compressor at 90psi, thread the nut by hand until it's flush with the tool and that's it. Perfect every time. The trigger even reverses the tool out of the nut, so no more spinning a 3 pound tool around in tight quarters.Just 5 minutes after receiving the tool I put it to work and mounted 12 1/4" rivnuts in a sheet steel belt guard. Literally took me about 30 seconds per nut, including threading the nuts onto the tool by hand.I've only used the 1/4" mandrels so far and what I've noticed is that they strip rather easily. I don't know if this is by design so you buy extras or if the mandrels are just cheap. Thankfully, it comes with extra mandrels for all sizes.I had a hole that I forgot to wipe the oil off of after drilling the hole. When the rivnut tightened down, it spun in the hole b/c it couldn't grab metal b/c of the oil. The mandrel wouldn't back out just reversing the tool. So I grabbed the nut with some Visegrips and got the tool off, but saw that two threads on the mandrel were stripped. I find it odd that the tool steel would be softer than a normal rivnut. Maybe it's my fault, I'm not sure. It's likely you could fix the threads with a die, but as they are cheap and the tool came with five of each size, I just tossed it.I can say the tool itself is solid. Feels great in the hand. Mandrel changes are tool-less! Quick and easy. I'd buy this again, but just be aware that if you have big project coming up and only have one mandrel of the size you need left, you should probably buy spares in advance, just in case.
