It's a pretty stool. It's great for the end of the bed or in a bathroom or hallway. I think it's too low to use for seating at a dining table.

I would like to start on a positive note: The wood grain on this bench is really beautiful and is the SOLE reason I purchased it over the same style benches offered at nearly HALF the price. If you’re looking for this style, I would still consider this bench because the others don’t have the grain/finish and look much cheaper. Now the negative! This bench was a huge pain to put together. It’s important to note I actually love building ikea furniture, but this took nearly an hour to do alone and I actively started screaming multiple times through the process. The Allen wrench provided not only deformed, but also stripped the screws! I will never be able to take this bench apart (not that I would likely need to) or adjust it if it starts to get loose. I ended up having to install both sides of the bench at the same time, inching them slowly together just to keep it aligned. The instructions were terrible and labeled a few items wrong. I started this project by following them and trying to screw each side in alone, but it kept falling apart, so I had to improvise and do most of the steps at once. If you have two people building it, this may not be as big of an issue if one person can hold all the pieces (the instructions have you assemble three/four pieces at the same time to begin with) while the other starts screwing everything together. But the screws also didn’t screw in straight! I’ll try my best to explain: Similar to ikea furniture, there are perpendicular holes where one is for the screw and the other is for a barrel nut to drop into - then you fasten and tighten the screw into it. The issue is the hole where you drop the barrel nut into is deeper than the hole for the screw, so they don’t match up at all and you have to flip the bench upside down and do this part against gravity to line it up *just* right. And, of course, it also has to be pointing the right direction so the hole in the nut is facing towards the screw. You’ll be twisting and shifting the nut up and down and left and right at the same time. This process was a try-and-fail at LEAST 20 times and caused the most screaming. I wish you better luck than me. Also, make sure you measure the area you want this in because this bench is super short!! The standard height of a bench is 18” - 20”, so this one looks very small at 16”.I’ve given this some thought over the past few weeks before giving my review. I can say with full confidence this bench is not worth the high price tag. I can’t tell if it’s inflation talking, but nearly $200 with tax for a disassembled item that takes an hour to put together and makes you want to rip your hair out is outrageous. You’re better off buying a solid wood bench second hand for a fraction of the price, especially if it was made at a time when everything was better quality and built with actual craftsmanship. BUT if this is the EXACT style you want, this is probably still the bench to buy considering it looks much nicer than the other options offered on Amazon, Wayfair, Temu, Walmart, etc. at this length. And once it’s built, it’s *mostly* water under the bridge. I’ve gotten used to the shortness of it (although I’ve had multiple comments on the height) and it’s a solid piece I wouldn’t expect to get wobbly over time.

I received not enough washers in the package. That was a minor frustration, I did not have a replacement at my house. So one of the legs is missing the proper washer. And the Allen wrench provided is c$#p (!!), as with small hands I could not get enough leverage to make that tiny thing do its job. It is half the width of my small hands, a play-toy size, ridiculous. Thankfully after some hunting around the house I found a more beefy Allen wrench that fit and did the job very well. The instructions are terrible, uber tiny and the only way I could see the parts labeled in the dinky drawing was to take a photo and blow it up. There is a TON of white space on that instructions sheet so they could absolutely make the drawing bigger and less frustrating to see. Basically you have to mainly use your puzzle-building intuition to put it together. It is easy in fact, but you have to puzzle it out when you should not have to do so.So a star off for the build experience. I should NOT have to hunt for a proper Allen wrench when they say that one is included. What is included hit my tiny hand at the halfway point, so that is not a proper tool for leverage. Especially since it is awkward to put together as one person, you want a good tool so that the contortions you go through to hold it together while tightening a bolt is easy, or at least manageable. The result for the price point is really beautiful, EXCEPT it would be better if they provided plugs for the screw/bolt holes. Those big cavernous holes definitely knock the high-end look down a notch. So make sure you. have a hefty set of Allen wrenches, perhaps get some wood putty to fill the holes, prepare to magnify the instructions unless you have 20/15 vision, and enjoy the result.NOTE TO SELLER: upgrade the Allen wrench to a heftier size for leverage across a handspan, include a couple of extra washers in case packaging shorts us one, include some wood plugs or wood putty (NOT plastic, and not "none"-- ), make the drawings bigger on the one same page provided, and charge $5 more to cover the extra pennies spent on your end, and knock this out of the park, my customer suggestion.

Beautiful little bench; I was really looking forward to having it.I have assembled many different items purchased on Amazon, including an outdoor composter, a cabinet, desk and more. The assembly instructions, while minimal (written in Chinese, so just the diagrams) were not the problem. The pieces had pre-drilled holes but I simply could not get the screws to hold or catch the wood. So I am returning, reluctantly.

This was one of the most difficult products to assemble. Terrible and incomplete directions . The video shows opposite way to assemble . Nothing was labeled and the difficulty was incredible. Looks outstanding when complete , but have an engineer handy !!!

This bench is made of gorgeous solid oak wood, not pressboard or laminate. The assembly was simple and straightforward. The bench is beautiful and fits perfectly in my apartment's entry hall. After assembly, it is very sturdy and surprisingly comfortable to sit on. I am very excited about having this in my entryway to sit on while putting on my shoes and putting packages and stuff down as I bring it in from the car.The only thing it did not come with was the little oak plugs for the predrilled bolt holes. They are easy enough to grab at the hardware store, but it would have been nice if they had included six plugs.I love it, and I tell all my friends about it.
