I have been stick burning for more than 10 years now. I'm far from an expert. Just the backyard guy.I am currently outside of America, and cannot find hickory wood for cooking. These are overpriced for most folks who can run down to the local Big box store like Home Depot or Lowe's. You can usually find either this brand or Kingsford or other brands for less. This is a great find for people in a similar situation to mine, though.I have to acknowledge that for the average off-set or vertical smoker these are too big. Unless you're doing these in a 50 or 100 gallon propane tank style off-set these logs are too big. If you're using a standard backyard Oklahoma Joe or similar off-set you need to split these. Otherwise, unless you're running a very hot fire these are going to create too much smoke because of the surface area before they get to temp. Also, because they are so large you run the risk of running your fire hotter than you intend to. I solved that problem by buying a log splitter. Now, I am good to go. I split them down to size and I had a very successful 16-hour smoke using primarily this product just last weekend. I look forward to ordering more unless I find a local connect. Very satisfied with the product and the outcome once I found a way to cut it down to size.

Not worth the cost for the amount of wood you receive for the price walmart has a better deal and more quantity for a lower price.

I'm slightly new to smoking at home&this sweet Hickory is amazing.ive tried several wood types&this is my Favorite.did a pork shoulder&it had the PERFECT Amy of smoke flavor.

Used for smoking ribs and prime rib. Worked very well for smoking. One bag was enough to last all day.

This product is a little pricey, but for those of us that don’t have the back 40 to go fell a few dead trees, it’s awesome for long smokes.I’m sure I could have saved a few bucks but since I don’t have a pickup or a back that supports the lumberjack way of life yet still enjoy long BBQ smokes and brewskies, I’ll take it by the cardboard box! Very well seasoned, comes well packed and is perfect size for my big green egg.

Item exactly as described. The mini logs are the perfect size for my OJ Smoker and these burn quite a long time. They smoke evenly and temp is easy to control. The flavor profile is great.
